Introduction

This abbreviated manual is intended to get you started quickly by providing the most basic system setup instructions. This manual provides instructions for performing initial setup, basic-management and, usage-reporting using standard reports via the Liberty PlugIns Website.

Before your Liberty PlugIns HYDRA-R system is first set up, choose a person to act as your “System Administrator.” Your Liberty PlugIns representative will provide you with a password for this individual. The password will be used in conjunction with their email address to access the system.

Log In to the system

Open https://www.lataccess.com/ in your browser.

Enter the System’s Administrator’s email and password.

Click on the “Login” button.

(4)

Home Page

After logging in, the first screen (Fig. 2) shows:

System administration options along the top menu bar;

Total energy usage (to date) for your entire organization, and;

Your Personal Totals showing your System Administrator’s own EV-charging usage.

Company Settings

Company Profile

To open the company profile page select “Company Admin” > “Company Profile” from the top navigation bar.

The company profile page allows the administrator to enter the company name, location, address and contact person’s information. An administrator needs to click on the “Update” button to save

modifications.

(6)

Company Defaults

To open the company defaults page select “Company Admin” > “Company Defaults” from the top navigation bar.

The company defaults page allows setting initial company values.

Minimum Balance – is the minimum amount of money that is required for users to be able to start charging their cars. This value can be set to a negative number if the company allows users to go bellow 0 amount in their wallet.

Charging Prices – this setting allows using the static price per kW/h or dynamic provided by the California ISO website.

PIN Length – the length of the PIN numbers used for charging.

(7)

Create and manage users

To open the user’s management page select “Company Admin” > “Manage User Accounts” from the top navigation bar.

The system is delivered with ten test users; these are used at the factory for initial testing. These user records can be edited and turned into “real users”, simply by changing the generic names and email addresses, or you can simply disable these users.

(8)

Disable Profile

Disabled Profile allows drivers to charge; ignore pricing limits.

Disabling the profile simply makes the system ignore user-selected maximum pricing. In other words, if you want EV drivers to be able to charge their car regardless of price choices or specifications of energy needs (number of kWh), then check the Disabled Profile box.

Disable/Enable user

To disable/enable a user click on the enable/disable button next to the user name in the “Actions”

column.

This setting will block the user from using the system.

Creating/Editing user

To create a new user click on the “+ Add User” button on top of the users’ list.

To edit a user click on the edit icon in the list next to the user name in the “Actions” column.

(9)

Enter the user’s information and click on the “Save” button to save the information.

NOTE: When creating users, be careful to choose the appropriate Role (User or

Administrator, see Fig. 5) - Administrators can create additional users, define pricing and review reports. Generally, you should have no more than two privileged Administrator users – a primary and backup Administrator.

In the PIN field, enter a unique set of numbers the user will enter to identify themselves when using keypad access to the system.

The Password and Verify Password fields are used for accessing the lataccess.com website.

An Administrator should provide a user with login information (email and password) when a user account is created.

When “Disabled” checkbox is checked the Hydra station won’t be available for the user in the “Select Location” menu.

(11)

This will open the edit page. An administrator can edit the required fields and click on the “Update”

Appendix

Important system functional parameters:

Until you enter a valid charger number and a valid PIN, no power will be present at the charger – none of the charger’s lights will indicate that power is present.

A PIN can only be used on one EV charger at any given time; you cannot use the same PIN on two EV chargers simultaneously.

If a vehicle is actively charging (energy is flowing) when the connector is removed from the vehicle, after 30 seconds, the current session will end and authentication of the next user will be required prior to restarting the flow of energy.
