¾ONT with built-in RGW: 2 POTS available, SIP-based VOIP function is realized in ONT
¾ONT with external RGW : the ONU provides FE to connect RGW, and RGW can provide more
analogue line interfaces.

IGMP Proxy
IGMP Snooping
All ONT in same PON
share a common IP
video tunnel
OLT:
¾2 levels of multicast copy, save bandwidth of OLT switching fabric
¾IGMP proxy in OLT : reduce the multicast ‘join/leave’ messages to multicast server
ONT:
¾All ONT in same PON share a common multicast traffic tunnel, which make use of PON
topology to decrease bandwidth. Each ONT selects its own programs according to its filter
table
¾IGMP Snooping in ONT: ONT send the multicast stream only to the Ethernet port connected
an IP STB, not to all Ethernet ports.
