This assumes you don’t need any other ports for other functions on the switch.

PowerEdge 1950 and 1950 III only supports dual port Fibre Channel HBAs. 2 single port Fibre Channel HBAs
are recommended for other servers for High Availability.

PE 1950, PE 1950 III only supports Qlogic QLE 2462, QLE 2562, LPe11002 and LPe12002.
b.
SAS (PowerVault MD3000 storage) configuration requires a minimum of two (single or dual channel)
SAS 5/E HBAs for all supported servers.

PowerVault MD3000 with 2 PowerVault MD1000 expansion (max 45 disks supported). MD1000 is not
supported as a standalone unit.

This assumes one NIC for public network and two teamed NICs for private network for both Fibre Channel and
SAS configuration (all servers except 1950 and 1950 III). 1950 and 1950 III do not support private NIC teaming
and only one NIC is used for private network in a SAS (PowerVault MD3000 storage) configuration.

The two teamed NIC ports for private network should be on the separate PCI buses. For example, one on
on-board NIC, one on addon NIC card. It is recommended that two teamed NIC s are homogenous.
