If you are a Partner Connections member, you can access Data Driver by logging in to the Partner Connections Online Member Center
(http://www.gs1us.org/pconline) and choosing Access Data Driver.
Data Driver is best viewed in Internet Explorer.
NOTE: Your User ID and Password to Data Drive is the same as Partner Connections. User ID and Password can be found in your welcome email. For assistance locating your User ID and Password, contact GS1 US toll-free at +1 866.648.0507.

Read the Data Driver License Agreement.
Click Agree to accept the terms and continue using Data Driver. Verify your GS1 Company Prefix. If your company has more than one prefix, choose the prefix that you will use to enter new barcodes. Click Continue. The “Home Page” will display.

Packaging Level - Minimum of (1) checkbox must be selected.
Company Prefix - Displays additional assigned prefixes.
Barcode/GTIN - Enter text in these free-form fields to refine your search.
Search Tips - Select this to view a web page containing search tips including the use of the “Wild Card” feature.
Hide Search Criteria - Minimizes the Search criteria section.
Search/Clear/List All My Entered Items - Search Initiates search per the criteria entered, Clear will remove any criteria entered, and List all my Entered Items will search for all items.
Status - Select All, Complete, or Incomplete to refine your search.
Brand Name/Description/SKU - Enter text in these free-form fields to refine search.
Search Results - This area displays items matching your criteria.

Admin Tools
Allows you to add, edit, clone a product, or create, view, and or print a Product Identification Detail Sheet. Add, edit, or view location(s) used by your company.
Takes you to the Products Menu where you can add, edit, clone, and view your products and their related information.
Allows you to add, edit, or view a company location.
Allows you to export and save an MS-Excel spreadsheet of all your entered GTINs and GLNs, import all your product and location data for your existing GTINs and GLNs, locate a vendor to print your barcode labels, collect the data needed for Data Driver, and enter those items which you already have barcodes.

HOW TO IDENTIFY PRODUCTS & PACKAGING LEVELS
IMPORTANT:Packaging levels are hierarchical. You must define the lowest level (each/individual unit) first then proceed to a higher level.
On the Home page, click Products tab.
Click Products. The “All Products” page will display.
Click Enter a Product That Needs a Barcode. The packaging Level screen will display.
Select the packaging level (Each/Individual was selected). Click Next to identify the type of barcode.

Select the appropriate Product and Packaging Types. Select the appropriate Barcode Dimensions (Defaults to Recommended).
Click Next.

Note: When selecting the Product and Packaging Types, select as your product is either displayed on the shelf or presented to the consumer.

Enter Product Identification, Product dimensions, and Product Weights.
Click Next.
Select your Department. The Category section will populate. Select your Category. The Sub Category section will populate. Select your Sub Category that describes your item.
Click Submit to assign your Barcode number.
NOTE: For help on measuring products, click the GDSN Package Measurement Guidelines link within the Products Dimensions area. When entering unit of measure be sure to use whole numbers or decimal representation. (i.e., no fractions)

HOW TO EDIT AN EXISTING PRODUCT
Click the Products tab. The All Products page will appear. Select the radio button of the desired product.
Click Edit.
The Edit Product: Product Packaging page will appear. Navigate through the different screens and edit the desired information
This example the Primary Product Description was edited Low-fat. Once you have submitted your edit(s) return to the “Products Menu” to verify your edit(s) and to complete this step.

NOTE: Edits are done to products that have not gone to market. If an item changes, it may require a new GTIN (for more information, reference GTIN Allocation Rules).

HOW TO CREATE A SALES FLYER
Click the Products tab. The “All Products” page will appear. Select the desired product.
Click Product Sales Sheet. The “Sales Sheet” appears.
Review information then enter Additional Comments. Upload your product image(s).
Click Generate Sales Sheet. A new “Product Sales Sheet” will appear.
Print or click Create PDF then click Close to complete this step.

Click the Products tab. The “All Products” page will appear.
Select the desired product. Click Clone.
The Clone Product: Product Packaging page will appear. Continue to navigate the screens, edit as needed then Submit
your data to return to the “All Products” page. (For this example, we added a low-fat flavor to our case)
Verify the cloned item to complete this step.
Note: Data Driver will assign a new barcode to the item, but every other piece of information will be duplicated – so it’s important to make
changes if needed.

Enter Product Identification details. Select your Barcode Dimensions.
Enter EXACT Dimensions and Weights.
Enter the Number of Products that will be included in the Package. Click Submit .

NOTE: When creating an Inner Pack, while the barcode dimensions area indicates this is for an ITF-14, you can change to a GS1-128 when printing the barcode. Refer to Printing a Barcode section of this user guide for more information.

The New Case Summary will appear. Mixed case units containing more than 1 U.P.C. will begin with 00 to denote more than 1 U.P.C. is contained in the box. Click Print Summary or click Next to continue.
Optional: click Locate additional vendors or Print a Product Identification sheet.
Click Finish to return to the “Products Menu”.
Review the completed barcode for the first level of hierarchy for that product to complete this step.

Click the Products tab. All Products screen will appear. Select the desired product .
Click Print Barcode to display the Print Barcode screen.
You can load specific Avery label stock and print on a laser-quality printer(minimum requirement).
Click Print Barcode Labels. The Print Options window will appear then click Print.

Select File at the top of your page to access the Page Set up in Internet Explorer.
Click Page Setup. The Internet Explorer Page Setup window will appear.

Enter the recommended print margins as stated.
Remove any data displaying in your Header/Footer by selecting Empty from the drop-down list.
Click OK. Now your Margins are set.
Click Print Barcode Labels. The Print screen menu will appear along with a barcode image screen.
Select your printer then click Print to print your Barcode.
Once you’ve successfully printed your Barcode, click Finish to complete this step.

IMPORTANT: the first time you click the Print feature, a Pop-up Blocked Warning may appear. Click the actual message bar to allow the Print menu to populate.

From the All Products screen, select the desired product. Click Print Barcode to display the Print Case Barcode screen. Choose GS1-128 from the Barcode Type drop-down list. Choosing GS1-128 will display application identifiers.
Enter information for the Application Identifiers that apply. Click Next.

If you are printing your own barcode labels, use the illustration on the Product Identification Detail Sheet for placement of label.
External Vendor Printing
You will need to provide them with the Product Identification Detail Sheet. It contains information required to print your labels.

From the Print Barcode screen, right-click on the image.
OPTIONAL: Select Email Picture, to email the image to your graphic artist or box printing company.
Click Save Picture As, to save it locally on your computer.
Once you’ve located your file folder select the file type as a PNG file. Click Save to return to the previous screen.

Click Admin Tools tab.
Click Export My Data. An Excel spreadsheet will appear.
Review your worksheet and save it locally to conclude this step. Once all of your products are entered into the Data Driver you can export them into an Excel spreadsheet to send off to the retailer with all of your numbers on it.

Click the Locations tab.
The Identify Your Company Locations page will display. This section will include your corporate entity and serve as a repository for any locations you have defined. Click the Set as Default link for the location that will serve as your new default Location.
The selected location will now have Current Default listed in the
Barcode Label Receiving Location field.
