For students commencing in 2015 onwards

This document includes program guides for each of the 13 double degrees with law offered by

Macquarie Law School. It is relevant to students who commenced their law degree in 2015 onwards.

This information is intended as a guide only and does not replace the Macquarie University Handbook

of Undergraduate Studies. All students are responsible for designing their own program of study to

take account of their personal circumstances. In designing your program of study you should refer to

the degree requirements relevant to your year of admission into the law program. For information

pertaining to individual units you should refer to the 2015 Handbook.

General requirements

Minimum of 120 credit points required for the degree, including:

72 credit points at 200 level or above;

48 credit points at 300 level or above;

72 credit points from units with a LAW, LAWS or LAWZ prefix;

completion of a qualifying major for the Bachelor of Arts;

completion of a designated People unit;

completion of a designated Planet unit; and

completion of a designated PACE unit with a LAWS or LAWZ prefix.

A Program of Study must include:

(i) One unit taken from the Schedule of People Units and one unit taken from the Schedule of Planet units, and (ii) Those units must be taken in two different Faculties.

Mathematics requirements

This degree requires assumed knowledge in HSC Mathematics, or international equivalent. It is recommended students have advanced knowledge of HSC Mathematics Extension 1, or international equivalent.

Introductory units and bridging courses are available for students without the assumed and/or recommended prior knowledge.

English requirements

All applicants for undergraduate or postgraduate coursework studies at Macquarie University are required to provide evidence of proficiency in English. For more information see English Language Requirements.
