COMMON QUESTIONS

1. Where will camp be held?

Camp will be held at the Vanderbilt Legends Club. Vanderbilt Legends Club offers an exceptional instruction facility located in the heart of Tennessee, with a two-sided driving range, a short game area with three putting greens and three chipping greens. It is the home of the Vanderbilt Commodores men’s and women’s golf teams.

This year, we will be staying at the Cool Springs Embassy Suites just minutes from the golf course. 2. Can I register the day of the camp?

•Yes, individuals are allowed to walk-up & register the day of the camp. Online registration will

close at 12 PM CST the day prior to the camp. Check In & walk-up registration will be from 1PM-3PM at the Cool Springs Embassy Suites Lobby. Cool Springs Embassy Suites is located at 820 Crescent Centre Drive, Franklin, TN 37067

•Upon registering, all walk-up campers must have a parent, guardian &/or adult present to help

complete the medical information form & a release from liability.

•At this time cash or checks will be acceptable at registration. All checks should be made

payable to Vanderbilt University.

•Online registration is preferred.

3. What are the costs of the camps?

• CAMP FEES: $745 Commuters (ages 10-17)

**If you aren’t entering the 8th grade, you must commute or stay in a hotel with a guardian

• $895 Overnight Campers (must be entering the 8th grade)

4. What should campers bring?

Cell phones are permitted at camp, but campers must abide by the rules relative to their daily

usage. Cell phones are strictly prohibited during instruction and course of play. If a camper is seen using a cell phone when usage is prohibited, it will be confiscated and returned upon the end of the day. Cell phone usage is limited to periods of free-time and in the evenings. Parents-Please make sure your child has read and understands this policy.

Spending Money: We recommend that each camper brings at least $50 of spending money for snacks or souvenirs. We will be taking a tour of the Vanderbilt University campus. Campers are responsible for keeping up with their money.

Packing List: Below is a suggested list of clothes, equipment, and personal items that we

recommend you bring. Vanderbilt University is not responsible for lost or stolen articles or money. DO NOT bring valuable items to camp with you and remember to label clothing and equipment.

PLEASE NOTE: Linens and Pillows are NOT provided!

***Do NOT forget to label all clothing, equipment, and items you bring to camp.

5. When & where is check-in/check-out occurring for camp?

•Check In will be from 1PM-3PM at the Cool Springs Embassy Suites Lobby. Cool Springs

Embassy Suites is located at 820 Crescent Centre Drive, Franklin, TN 37067.

•Vanderbilt Athletics Camp Policy requires that you sign your camper in when you drop him/her

off and sign your camper out when you pick him/her up at the conclusion of camp.

•Camp closing ceremony is at 12:00 pm on August 4th following the tournament at Vanderbilt

Legends Club – Parents are invited to attend! Departure is following the ceremony between 12:00-2:00 on Monday at the Vanderbilt Legends Club.

6. What type of medical care will be provided?

•Vanderbilt's certified athletic trainers and doctors will be on call during camp sessions. Camp

counselors are all CPR certified.

•Campers &/or their parents must complete a release from liability found at the online

registration site.

•Upon registering, all walk-up campers' must have a parent, guardian &/or adult present to help

complete the medical information form & a release from liability. 7. What is the camp refund policy?

• If camp enrollment needs to be cancelled, Vanderbilt University will retain $20 of your registration (including any fees associated with online registration). The remaining amount of the registration will be refunded to you in the same method used at registration.

• Once a camp begins, money will not be refunded unless extenuating circumstances are approved by the Vanderbilt Athletics Department Administration.

8. Will food be provided?

All meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) will be provided during camp starting with dinner on August 1st through lunch on August 4th

9. Roommates?

• Campers stay 3 per room. The rooms are assigned according to gender, age, and roommate requests.

• A female camp counselor will be assigned to stay on the floor with the female campers in the hotel and a male camp counselor will be assigned to stay on the floor with the male campers in the hotel.

• If you don’t have a roommate request, you will be placed in a room with someone near your age. It will be a great opportunity for you to meet someone new!

Stay on Hwy 100 through Fairview past Camp Marymount and turn right back onto Hwy 96. Take Hwy 96, under the Natchez Trace Bridge, into Historic Franklin, and take a left onto Hillsboro Road at Bank of America. Stay on Hillsboro Road past the High School to the intersection at Mack Hatcher and turn right onto Mack Hatcher. Take a left at the next intersection onto Franklin Road.
