YOUR GROWTH

The emergence of India as a global centre of an educated and skilled workforce has driven the need to provide quality education for all, irrespective of social and economic disparities and geographical limitations.

The Government is focusing on expanding the existing system to include the marginalised sections, provide equal learning opportunities, and drive excellence and enhancement in the quality of teaching and learning in schools. Which is why, in the 2014-15 budget, the Government has allocated 500 crore to introduce new training tools to motivate and train teachers.

Technology, especially e-learning, is helping the Indian Government bridge the digital divide between students in rural and urban areas. In fact, the Government—through schemes such as the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology, the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning and ICT@Schools—is leveraging technology for distributing video and web-based course content as well as offline multimedia educational content. The Government has allocated 100 crore for setting up virtual classrooms as Communication Linked Interface for Cultivating Knowledge and online courses in the 2014-15 budget.

The Indian education sector is estimated to reach 6,02,410 crore by FY15 on

the back of what is expected to be a strong demand for quality in education,

according to India Ratings, a Fitch Group company.

Our partnership with YTL allowed us to deliver the world’s first cloud-based virtual learning platform over 4G. Competitors in this space principally offer point solutions. By contrast, our customer was able to source network content, capacity, connectivity and security from a single vendor: Xchanging.

Xchanging was able to prove its ability to deliver large-scale

transformation strategies of national importance through existing

customer and partner relations. We needed a partner that would

bring together five key elements to make this work–connectivity,

VLE, platform, devices and content. This is normally a challenge for

service providers, but Xchanging offered us end-to-end integration.
