Your company can help change the lives of children with special
needs. Corporate volunteering boosts employee morale and
strengthens ties to the community where your employees work
and live. We need and appreciate corporate volunteers, and the
energy and enthusiasm they lend to our cause. Our corporate
volunteer program coordinates team building activities for
corporate employees to volunteer their time and talents to our
hospital.
Children’s Specialized Hospital
• Children’s Specialized Hospital (CSH) is the preeminent provider of rehabilitation
services for children with special needs. • CSH serves children affected by brain injury,
spinal cord injury, premature birth, autism, developmental delays, and life-changing illnesses.
• CSH has thirteen sites in New Jersey and treats 26,000 children each year, making it the largest pediatric rehabilitation system of its kind in the nation.

Arts & Crafts!
• Wall of Windows
–Volunteers create magic in our Hall of
Transformation on our New Brunswick campus by decorating the “Wall of Windows.” The windows are actual glass shadow boxes built into the wall. Volunteers can select their own theme or work with our Corporate Engagement team here at CSH to
make these windows magical. Whether you choose to decorate the windows to celebrate Mickey
Mouse’s birthday or a seasonal holiday, our kids love to see the creativity our corporate volunteers have to offer!

Arts & Crafts!
• Cards & Goodie Bags
–Volunteers can provide comfort to our families when they need it most. As part of our inpatient admission process, each family receives a welcome bag with a home made card, personal toiletries, snacks and a deck of playing cards. Families are grateful to our corporate volunteers for being able to provide these items at a time when they are so focused on their child’s well being, they sometimes forget their own needs.
–In addition to welcome bags, volunteers help to supply, assemble and decorate bags and cards for our patients throughout our organization to
celebrate special occasions.

Spring Cleaning!
• Playground Clean-up
–Volunteers can help keep our playgrounds clean and safe for our kids! CSH campuses in
Mountainside, New Brunswick and Toms River have wheelchair accessible playgrounds for our patients and their siblings to use. Volunteers clear debris (leaves & twigs) that may prevent surface area from being flat for kids to walk or roll over. The
equipment is also cleaned to remove dirt and allergens. Our kids love to play outside and our corporate volunteers make this possible!
–In addition, volunteers have the option to
participate in several other outdoor activities that include planting flowers and organizing a car wash for our transport vehicles!

Spring Cleaning!
• Donation Closet
–Volunteers can help organize and distribute donations we receive year round of toys, games, clothing and toiletries at our Mountainside campus. We are fortunate to have many corporate and
community partners who donate to CSH on a regular basis, because of this generosity we must stay organized in order to distribute donations to our twelve sites as efficiently and quickly as we can.
Our staff and patients are always so excited to see what goodies the corporate volunteers packed up and sent their way!
–During the holiday season, we are in need of volunteers to fulfill this task on a regular basis.

Special Events!
• Patient Parties & Activities
–Volunteers can plan, implement and staff special events for our patients with the help of our
Corporate Engagement Team and Recreational Therapy Department. Kids at our Mountainside, New Brunswick and Toms River campuses spend a significant amount of time with us as an inpatient or long term care patient. Corporate volunteer special events provide a much needed escape from the hard work of therapy for our patients and their families!
–Special events must be scheduled more than a month in advance.
