• 65.100 round trips per day approx.
And a high level of daily movements: workers, visitors, goods

Delta area mobility forum: how to manage mobility in a more global
and collaborative approach
Is a regional Mobility law requirement for big and specialized activity areas. Delta area mobility forum is a
permanent space for discussion, where al the agents involved are represented. The Delta area mobility forum promote participation and collaboration in order to improve mobility management in the area.
Members of Delta area mobility forum: •Landlords
•Municipalities
•Regional transport authorities •Public transport operators •Companies and professional associations
•User associations •Trade unions
First of all: elaborate and approve of a Mobility master plan and
decide the main objectives
1. Improve the accessibility conditions to the Delta area, specially with public transport modes
2. Make compatible goods transport and logistic operations (trucks, railways) with personal mobility (cars, buses, cycles, pedestrian)
3. Get safe and homogeneous mobility conditions in order to achieve internal (between functional areas) and external (with municipalities) cohesion
4. Facilitate discussion and decision process (at individual level and also at management level) with enough mobility information available
5. Promote cooperation and participation between all the agents involved in personal mobility and goods transport in the area
Second: establish forum organization and working groups

How are financed the Delta area mobility forum activities...
Projects and activities discussed in the Delta area mobility forum are in charge of the competent
members.
However, Delta area mobility
forum finance some small activities (diffusion, technical support, public transport support) in a solidary manner: each member pay the same quantity if the activity engage all the members in the same manner.
But, in other cases, the budget is distributed only between the members involved directly in the action.

•Analyse the “metro” project: two new lines, seven new stations •Demand and modal share changes •New mobility patterns
•Bus shuttle lines to connect stations with functional areas
Example 3:
•Train crossing at the same level: how to improve safety?
•Make a efficient signalling system •Make compatible the roundabout circulation and the rail crossing •Rail circulation during the night Example 2:
•Consider a cycling and pedestrian network in the area
•Pedestrian paths to the three adjacent municipalities
•How to solve the conflicts
between cycles and trucks in some parts of the area?
A question...
•
Could be done the same in a airport area?
•
A Mobility forum could be useful to manage mobility in airport access?
•
A Mobility forum could be appropriate to manage a project to reduce pollution in airport access?
•
How are mobility issues managed in big airport areas (airfield, terminal, access, logistic and industrial area
around the airport)?
