The release of the Virgo Planning and Evaluation Consulting report will serve as a catalyst to accelerate our efforts to improve mental health and addiction services for all Manitobans particularly in the areas of improving access, coordination, accountability and sustainability.

Participating in the strategy’s development increased awareness and insight into the strengths and challenges of Manitoba’s mental health and addiction systems. It also provided important venues to discuss gaps and potential alternatives. There are multiple new opportunities for AFM and the broader system to improve collaboration through greater accountability and integration between mental health and addictions services, as well as the primary health care, social, education and justice sectors.
