One of the UK’s fastest growing mobile networks, Three was eager to break into the competitive Irish market to become the country’s fourth operator.
Threefold supported BT in rolling out Three’s 3G network in Ireland, managing its portfolio with a full programme management service over a five-year period. Building a new network raised critical programme issues, which required expert governance and performance controls. Mobilising quickly, Threefold brought together a strong team, which co-located with Three and BT to facilitate effective communication, teamwork and successful programme delivery.

Critical government services have to be backed up by a network that is 100 per cent reliable. The Irish government turned to Tetra Ireland and Threefold to roll out and manage a purpose-built, secure digital mobile radio developed to meet the needs of the country’s emergency services.
Working to tight deadlines and a restricted budget, the team established a highly effective collaborative partnership with clear project management and controls, as well as a robust production-line to implement a highly successful network rollout.

Changing the way we travel around London, Crossrail is Europe’s largest infrastructure project and amongst the most significant ever undertaken in the UK. Incredibly complex, the development comprises 188km of new railway from Reading to the west of London to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east, along with eight new sub-surface stations and upgrades to 27 existing surface stations.
AECOM worked with the Crossrail supply chain to set a shared vision, developing a programme management approach that focuses on common systems and processes, and cost and schedule control, as well as risk and value management. By creating a spirit of continuous improvement and collaborative working, the team has achieved many successes – from cost savings to a transparent procurement process that was delivered in full, on budget and with no failures in the supply chain.
GLOBAL EXPERIENCE,
LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
British utilities giant, National Grid wanted to create a controls system to monitor 200 current projects and forecast a further 800 as part of their overall capital programme.
Creating a clear system of project controls facilitates effective decision-making. With an approach which emphasised the need for insight and operational understanding, AECOM worked closely with them to create an integrated solution that would save National Grid time and money in the delivery of their capital programme.
