Morning PROGRAM ACTIVITIES for the Comsewogue Summer Fun & Learning Program
Art Expression - Students will experiment with drawing, jewelry making, painting and arts and crafts.
Recreational Games - Students will be grouped according to age and participate in basketball, soccer, football and other sports. Students will learn team play, fitness and sportsmanship.
Story Hour - Students will build literacy skills through independent reading and read-alouds. Students will be provided with opportunities to write their own plays and stories.
Field Trips (anticipated to occur)
In-person field trips will be offered as an option to all half- day and full-day students as the cost is included in the tuition. The trips are to the Long Island Aquarium and Adventureland. A parent may opt out of any scheduled field trip offered this year.
*Program may be adjusted due to the pandemic.
How many sessions are there?
There are 7 weeks available in the in the Summer Fun & Learning Program.
Is transportation provided?
Parents will provide transportation to and from the program.
Are snacks and lunch provided?
Parents should provide all lunch and snacks for their children.

Afternoon Program for Comsewogue Enrichment and Summer Fun & Learning Programs
The Comsewogue Summer Fun & Learning Program will combine with the ESBOCES Summer Enrichment Program.
Team Sports - Students will compete in competitive games of soccer, softball, football, basketball, volleyball and other related sports.
Arts and Crafts - Age appropriate art and craft activities that will allow students to express their artistic skills as they paint, draw, sculpt, paste and create will be provided to all students.
Classroom Activities - Strategic games that are designed to build critical thinking skills, musical activities, independent reading and read-alouds are featured in these classroom activities.
Individual Games - Students will participate in individual sport activities such as: tag games, basketball shooting and other common games taught in physical education classrooms.
Swimming - Students (with parent/guardian permission) will be bused at least one day a week to the Town of Brookhaven Centereach Pool. Students not going will join the regular afternoon schedule. The ESBOCES Swimming Permission form must be completed online in CampDoc.
*This is contingent upon the Town Pool being open to the public.
Field Trips - There will be an onsite virtual Arts-In-Education experience and two in-person field trips to the Long Island Aquarium and Adventureland. A parent may opt out of any scheduled field trip offered this year.
Students Eligible to Attend:
All students in Suffolk County who will be entering Grades 1 through 8
in September 2021 are eligible to enroll. The full-day program is from 9 AM to 4 PM.
Students who enroll for the entire 7 weeks of the Comsewogue Summer Fun & Learning Program
receive a greatly reduced rate! Students may also enroll on a weekly basis.
Extended-Day Program:
To provide for the needs of working parents, the 2021 Comsewogue Summer Fun & Learning Program will offer extended-day options from
7:00 AM - 9:00 AM and from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Enclosed are descriptions of the two in-person field trips and the virtual Arts-in-Education experience scheduled for the ESBOCES Summer Fun & Learning Program at Comsewogue.
WůĞĂƐĞƌĞǀŝĞǁƚŚĞƚƌŝƉƐǁŝƚŚLJŽƵƌĐŚŝůĚĂŶĚĚĞĐŝĚĞŝĨLJŽƵǁŝƐŚLJŽƵƌĐŚŝůĚƚŽ attend. On each of the dates listed, students electing not to go on the field trip will be provided with the usual Summer Fun & Learning Program. All trips will be supervised by teachers and counselors. To ensure the safest environment possible, all children attending each field trip will be required to wear their ESBOCES Summer Fun & Learning Program T-shirt.
Field trips are available for all students and all associated costs are included in the tuition!!!

We are pleased to bring a virtual ESBOCES Arts-In-Education experience to Summer Enrichment.
This will offer our students the ability to engage in STEAM activities that they will thoroughly enjoy.

This FINtastic destination features one of the largest all-living coral reef displays in this hemisphere, a 120,000-gallon shark tank, year-round sea lion shows, African penguins, marmoset monkeys, numerous touch tanks and more than 100 exhibits including lavish indoor gardens of butterflies, bugs and bird exhibits.
Students and staff are required to wear ESBOCES T-shirts.
Bus will leave Comsewogue at 9:15 a.m.
Bus will return at 4:00 p.m.

Adventureland is Long Island’s Amusement Park since 1962 where one can enjoy a fun and exciting day on rides, attractions, games, and more. Adventureland Amusement Park features over 30 fun and exciting rides and attractions. The park has something for everyone with a variety of thrill rides, family rides, kiddie rides, and water rides.
Students and staff are required to wear ESBOCES T-shirts.
Bus will leave Comsewogue at 9:05 a.m.
Bus will return at 4:00 p.m.
