II. Admission Qualification

1. Common Qualification for All Degree Programs

A. Applicant holds foreign (non-Korean) citizenship and whose parents also have foreign citizenship; resides in Korea (or plan to enter Korea) with a valid visa and does not require a student visa from Torch Trinity.

*Valid visa types:

- Foreigners of Korean Descent (F-4)

- Diplomatic Visa Holder and Their Family - US military personnel and Their Family

B. A confessing and mature believer (who has assurance of salvation) with letter of reference from a pastor

A. 4-year bachelor's degree or equivalent as recognized by law (completed before commencing graduate studies)

8. Result of Standardized English Test (TOEFL, IELTS, or TEPS)

- Passing Score for English Program: TOEFL-PBT 550, TOEFL-CBT 210, TOEFL-iBT80, IELTS 5.5, TEPS 550 or higher score acquired within the last two years

- Those who are from countries where English is used as an official language, or who have acquired a Bachelor or higher degree in English speaking countries such U.S.A., Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and so on will be exempt. 9. What is Expat program?

The Expat Program was first created at Torch Trinity Graduate University in the Spring of 2007 to meet the special needs of expatriates in Korea who want a theological education in the English language and yet have to maintain a full or part-time profession. As the program was designed for expatriate professionals, the part-time study is permitted.

Benefits of the Expat program are as follows:

First, part-time extended study is possible. Under the Expat program all courses are charged on per- credit basis. Up-front entrance fee is replaced with lesser, semester-based administrative fee that enables students to take one or two courses more affordably. Second, the normal program duration of Expat doubles the full-time duration. The maximum duration is ten years for MDiv and eight years for MA, MEd, MTS, or ThM.

◆ How to Get Your Reference Letters

Please seal the reference letters.

l The reference letter must be written and sealed in the envelope by the referee. The applicant is not allowed to either write or read the contents of the reference letter.

l The reference letter must be either mailed by the referee, or submitted by the applicant in the sealed envelope. If the reference letter is not sealed, the application will not be processed.

Reference letters from family members and relatives are not accepted.

Reference letters may be given by alternate persons for the following reasons only: l In the case a reference letter from the senior pastor is not possible.

If the applicant, or their parent is the senior pastor of the church, or the applicant has recently moved to the church, a reference letter from an assistant pastor of the church, or another pastor who knows well of the applicant’s life and spiritual state is acceptable. In the above cases, the applicant must indicate the reason for the change of reference on the application form.

All English Program applicants must submit reference letters in English. Yet if the reference is unable to utilize English, the applicant must request translation of the reference letter by a third person. The original reference letter must be sealed and delivered to the translator, and the translator must seal in envelope both the original letter and the translated reference letter. The applicant is not allowed to see the reference letter in any form, and must submit it as in a sealed envelope.

◆ Enrollment

1. New students cannot stop-out for the 1st semester.

2. Your admission will be canceled if you fail to pay the tuition during the given period.

3. You should not register at another university or graduate school while you are enrolled at TTGU. 4. If any false entry is found in your application, your admission will be canceled.
