WFT Server Mode
Infrastructure Network Setup
Initial Setup – OS X
Overview
This section will describe how to set up a WFT Server Mode/Infrastructure network on an Apple Macintosh running OS X 10.5-10.6. WFT Server Mode allows you to wirelessly control your camera through a standard web browser. It also provides Live View functionality and the ability to wirelessly transfer images from the camera to a remote com- puter. This setup requires a wireless network router
to serve as the access point. It assumes that the router has been set up for DHCP with WEP security enabled. You will therefore need the 10 digit WEP key or other password to connect to the router. Do not attempt to change the settings on anyone else’s computer or network without the explicit permission of the owner or administrator.
Begin by switching on your router and setting it up according to manufacturer’s instructions. Activate your computer’s Air- port card and select the name of wireless network you want to access. If the network belongs to someone else you must obtain permission before attempting to access it.
