I. Introduction
MFT Platform Server for Windows 7.1 is now generally available. MFT Platform Server enables secure, controlled file-transfer activity on all platforms. With the power of MFT Platform Server, users can transfer critical business files between applications, integrate data from a network of stores or branch locations, or send large files to an offshore data center.
MFT Platform Server for Windows 7.1 includes exciting new functionality and resolves outstanding issues from the previous version of Platform Server for Windows. TIBCO continues to stay ahead of the competition by adding the most advanced technology to MFT Platform Server.
II. Enhancements in
MFT Platform Server for Windows 7.1
1. Distribution List (One to Many)
Users have the ability to send a file to multiple locations from a single transfer. This enhancement allows users to send files in a distribution list format such as a pricing update file to all retail stores.
2. Added a message to the cfapplkey scripts
The applykey scripts now contain a message to tell the user to recycle MFT after installing the key.
3. Added Responder Profile support to Command Center Functions (Node, Profile, RProfile)
A Command Center user can now connect to Platform Server with a responder profile, and have the ability to manage the Platform Server or collect logs from the Platform Server.
4. Added new tokens
Assuming that a file is called “a.b.c”, the tokens will resolve in the following way: $(NoLocalFileBase) b.c
$(NoLocalFileExt) a.b $(NoRemoteFileBase) b.c $(NoRemoteFileExt) a.b

6. Added Perl DNI script
This enhancement allows users to detect the existence of a file within a directory, and transfer each file in the directory to a target system. Perl DNI is in addition to the standard DNI functionality within MFT Platform Server. Perl DNI:
• Allows users to use regular Expressions to filter files to be transferred • Allows users to limit the days/times that files are scanned to be transferred
7. Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) Support
MFT Platform Server for Windows can be silently installed using MS SCCM.
8. File transfer throttle default values
The new file transfer throttle values are 50 Initiators and 50 Responders totaling 100. If a file transfer is limited on the initiator side, only one message will be written for all transfers going to the event viewer. All other transfers will not be attempted until the next dispatcher cycle.
9. Added Extended ASCII support to MFT Platform Server conversion tables
MFT Platform Server now provides four conversion tables that can be selected for greater flexibility and support for extended ASCII character sets:
Comtblg.classic - The old comtblg.dat shipped with prior versions. This table provides compatibility with versions prior to v7.1 and does not contain extended ASCII characters
Comtblg.cp037 - Extended ASCII table that is based on IBM Code page 037. This table supports the Latin-1 character set as used in IBM mainframes.
Comtblg.cp1047 - Extended ASCII table that is based on IBM Code page 1047. This table supports the ISO8859-1 character set.
Comtblg.dat - Extended ASCII table that is based on IBM Code page 037. This table supports the Latin-1 character set as used in IBM mainframes. This table is identical to the Comtblg.cp037 table.

PTFs after MFT Platform Server for Windows 7.0

o Fixes a problem when after modifying the file name in a template the updates are not saved until the server is refreshed. Template changes are now saved without requiring a refresh.
o Fixes a problem where the Administrator GUI may crash if the MFT Platform Server Administrator Auto Refresh Rate is less than 10 seconds.
o Fixes a problem where log and event Viewer records were written for all incoming connections including keep alive requests from a load balancer. MFT will log requests if data is sent on the connection. If the connection is just opened and closed then nothing is logged. • CW01835
o Added the ability to generate SSL certificate requests with key lengths of 1024, 2048 and 4096 bits
o Added the -v option to sslutility.exe to display version information • CW01853
o Resolves an issue when using the Platform Server Command Line Client to perform Platform Server transfers via the MFT Internet
Server, Platform Server Initiator Transaction IDs did not increase after performing multiple transfers.
o Resolves an issue in MFT Internet Server, when a transfer definition was defined using both a UNC path, and a Platform Server as the file destination, a 'cfdir' error caused the transfer to fail.
o Resolves issues with load balancer heartbeat requests causing the Platform Server to hang unexpectedly.
o Platform Server PPA token %TIME only resolved one digit for any second under 10 seconds. The token now resolves two digits, for example 9 seconds is now resolved as "09".

V. Pre-requisites
A. Minimum Operating System Version
MFT Platform Server for Windows is supported on the following minimum operating system levels or above:
• Windows XP SP3 • Windows Vista SP1
• Windows 2008 and 2008 R2 • Windows 7
Copyright © 1995 - 2011 TIBCO Software Inc. All Rights Reserved. Page 8 of 8 Microsoft engineers may not be able to help resolve the issue until you've upgraded to a supported level.
B. Minimum Hardware
• 1 GB of memory • 100 MB of disk space
• An appropriate amount of additional local storage is recommended for file transfer data • An x86 architecture based processor is required to run MFT Platform Server for
Windows and RocketStream file transfer acceleration
C. Sizing Guidelines
In addition to the above minimum requirements:
• For up to 100 concurrent transfers, two or more processor cores at 2.5 GHz or faster • For up to 200 concurrent transfers, four or more processor cores at 2.5 GHz or faster • For more than 200 concurrent transfers, eight or more processor cores at 2.5 GHz or
faster
• One additional processor core at 2.5 GHz or better for extensive use of encryption or compression
• When performing over 100 concurrent transfers, TIBCO recommends using the transfer throttling feature
• TIBCO recommends a maximum of 50 DNI templates per server
