Now that you have signed up with 99 Dollar SEO you have taken a giant step forward in growing your business online.
Here we will talk about the process of SEO (Search engine optimization) and what to expect from our service.
1. Keyword Research- First and foremost we have to come up with a good list of profitable keywords for your business. Keyword research is so extremely important. This is how we do it. We go over to Google.com and use the Google adwords tool to start (We also have other advanced keyword research systems to crosscheck keywords) Google will give you good keyword information to start. Now what we do is type your general keyword in the keyword box. In example “pest control” in a specific city, we will type in “pest control Austin Texas” Google will then give us a list of keywords for the business. From here we can see the number of searches per month for each keyword. And Google will also tell us in general how much competition there is for that keyword.
Low competition keywords can take 3 months on average to rank first page of Google. Medium competition keywords can take 3-6 months to rank on Google.
High competition keywords can take up to 6-12 months to rank first page on Google.
We prepare a list of keywords based on how many searches per month and how much competition there is. We like to make sure there are enough searches per month for your keywords and at the same
time not so much competition where it takes months and months to rank. We like to find what we call that “sweet spot”. Then we prepare a keyword list based on your SEO package.
Also at this stage is great to hear your input. Of course at the end of the day you’re going to know more about your particular business than we do. So please feel free to give us your keyword ideas.
2. Onpage SEO - After we have found and secured your list of keywords. We want to make sure these keywords are installed in your websites “meta keywords” area and it’s also a good idea to add these keywords sporadically around your website. We like to be very careful with this. Adding to many keywords on your website will set off alerts with Google with what’s called “keyword stuffing” So you don’t want to overdo onpage seo. Having your keywords in Meta and spread around your site a little is more than enough.
4. Weekly Reports We have moved to an automated system. That will email you your keyword ranking reports weekly. And will show you your keyword rankings in real time. It often updates throughout the day. It’s great to check your rankings but you don’t want to become obsessed. SEO takes time and results will not come overnight. So checking your rankings daily can sometimes put you in a damper. From the start its best to check your rankings maybe once a week. But feel free to check as much as you want.
5. Visitor tracking - Very very important to your website. Tracking your visitors and seeing how many visits you get per day is extremely important. Not only will you be able to see growth on your website over time but you will be able to see areas you need to improve upon on your website. Many people use Google Analytics. While it’s a good system. But we don’t think it’s best for beginners. The dashboard and graphs can be very confusing for a beginner. We recommend Statcounter.com. It’s free and very easy to setup and use.
Some packages include social media. If you have one of these packages you will get either Facebook fans monthly or Twitter followers monthly. We always recommend twitter. Because we can get extremely targeted in adding your followers. Most times getting you followers that can turn into customer’s right in your own community.
What next? The waiting game…
We know this can be the stressful part... You will wonder how soon you will get traffic, and other things. While this process may seem grueling it’s actually the best time to work on some other parts of your business. While playing the waiting game there are some really important things you can be doing to defiantly increase your profits online. Here are some great tips that will help the process of getting you more traffic online.
Tip 1. Using Social Media. The more outlets you have for your business to get the word out the better. Social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and many more. These sites work wonders. You want to make sure you have a nice business profile on each of these social media platforms. And make sure you interact often. Not only does it help with brand awareness. But Google loves social media integration.
Tip 2. Content. Content is King online. And is one of the most important things you can do to grow your business. Start a blog and feed your website with quality content. Google will reward you and so will your customer’s.
Tip 3. Constant Updates. Keep your profiles, social media networks, Google Places Page updated with coupons gift certificates. Giveaways and contests work great. And it really gets your customers involved. And builds rapport.
