Our state of the art facilities include a real veterinary clinic, fully equipped television and radio studios, practising

chiropractic clinic, a purpose built law courtroom, a dedicated Exercise Physiology Laboratory, and a hands on instrumentation and control engineering pilot plant, to name a few. You will also have 24 hour access to computer labs and Library Learning Common.

Rankings

Murdoch University has achieved a place in the annual Times Higher Education 100 under 50 rankings coming in at number 60. One of the most important annual global ratings, this list identifies high achieving universities established less than 50 years ago. Murdoch’s recent emergence in the Times Higher Education Top 400 confirms our place as one of the top 2 per cent of universities globally.

Unique courses

We have a variety of unique and world class courses available. For example, our Veterinary program is unique to Western Australia and is internationally accredited (received AVMA Accreditation), we were the first University in Australia to offer Environmental Science, and our Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering major is rated in the top five for ‘well above world standard’ courses.

A range of support services

We understand the challenges of adjusting to a new country and university life so we offer a wide range of support services, specifically for international students. This includes a dedicated support team for students in their first year of study, course and career advisors, and a range of health and counseling services.

Dr Jane Hutchinson

Working towards better outcomes

for people in poverty

Dr Hutchison is a Senior Lecturer in Politics at the School of Management and Governance.

Be inspired: Dr Hutchison is a political

economist who specialises in social and political change and international development. At Murdoch University’s Asia Research Centre, she is part of a team researching the political economy of aid effectiveness and poor people’s political responses to aid. Previously, Dr Hutchison has chaired Oxfam Australia’s Board and been actively involved in international non-governmental organisation governance and efforts to create a world without the injustice of poverty.

Professor Bahri is a Professor of

Engineering at the School of Engineering and Information Technology.

Be inspired: Professor Bahri specialises in

process systems engineering providing solutions to industries in improving their competitiveness in the face of numerous challenges such as competitive market conditions, substantial energy costs, diminishing resources and compliance with the restrictive environmental regulations. Professor Bahri’s research is concerned with design, modelling, control, optimisation, economic assessment, planning and operational management of mineral and biotechnological processing systems.

Leading the way on the prevention

and treatment of transmitted

parasites

Professor Thompson is Chair in Parasitology at the School of Veterinary and Life Sciences, Molecular and Biomedical Sciences.

Be inspired: Professor Thompson’s work on

parasitic diseases has led to the discovery of drugs which can prevent and treat diseases transmitted by parasites. Professor Thompson’s research has resulted in the development of drug treatments for neglected diseases rampant in Africa and South America, including sleeping sickness, Chagas disease and Leishmaniasis.
