Q1. What is the PMP Exam?
A1. PMP stands for Project Management Professional certification. This is an exam offered by PMI (Project Management Institute) for individuals in the project management domain.

Q3. What are the educational requirements to be eligible for PMP Exam?
A3.The candidate should have attended at least 35 hours of class room training on Project Management. Q4. What are the experiential requirements to be eligible for PMP Exam?
A4. Minimum of 4500 hours of project management experience covering the 5 process groups, if the candidate holds a baccalaureate or equivalent university degree at the time of the application.
Minimum of 7500 hours of project management experience covering the 5 process groups, if the candidate holds a high school diploma or equivalent secondary school credential at the time of the application.
Q5. Can HCSL assist in the evaluation of my requirements before I embark on the training and before I make application to the PMI?.
A5. Yes. At HCSL, we offer FREE evaluation of our student’s requirements in order to advise them if they are suitable for PMP or CAPM.
Q6. What score is required to pass the PMP Exam?
A6. PMI made a decision in 2006 to no more publish passing scores for its exams. In 2007, PMI also removed all quantitative elements from the post-exam review for test candidates. The passing score is estimated inside a range between 61% and 75%.

Q7. How many questions are there in the exam? How much time do I get?
A7. For PMP, the exam has 200 multiple choice questions. Each question has exactly one correct answer. You will get 4 hours to answer these questions. 25 pretest questions will be randomly placed throughout the new examination to gather statistical information on the performance of these questions in order to
determine whether they may be used on future examinations. These 25 pretest items are included in the 200-question examination, but will not be included in the pass/fail determination; candidates will be scored on 175 questions.
For CAPM, the exam has 150 multiple choice questions to be completed in 2 hours. Q8. How much does it cost to take the exam?
A8. It is highly recommended that you become PMI member prior to signing up to take the test. The
membership fee is $129 and application can be submitted online at www.pmi.org. If you are a PMI member, the exam fee is $405, for non-members, the exam fee is $555. Becoming a PMI member will allow you to gain PMI membership privileges.
Q9. How do I apply for the PMP Exam?
A9. PMI has an online application for certification. More information regarding applying for the exam online
is available at PMI’s website at www.pmi.org. The PMP Credential Handbook is also available in PDF
format on the PMI website. Please note that application to the PMI to sit for either the PMP or CAPM exam is FREE.
Q10. What is PMBOK?
A10. PMBOK is an acronym for Project Management Book of Knowledge. This book contains all the project management tools and techniques needed to implement project successfully. Immediately you pay an annual membership fee to PMI, a personalized copy will be sent to you free of charge. It is a must-have book for all project managers.
The PMP and CAPM exam is based on the all the processes, tools and techniques and input/output (ITTO) that are in the PMBOK.
At the moment, the PMBOK is in the fifth edition. Q11. What is included in the PMBOK fifth edition?
A11. PMBOK fifth edition contains 5 process groups, 10 knowledge areas and 47 processes. Being trained on previous editions of PMBOK will NOT be sufficient to make you pass the examination based on the fifth edition.

Q12. What edition of the PMBOK will the training at HCSL be based on ? A12. All our training is based on PMBOK fifth edition.
Q13. When will you advise that I take the Examination?
A13. We always advise our students to take the exam after they have read extensively and tested their knowledge using our simulated practice questions.
Q14. If I pass the examination based on PMBOK fifth edition, will I have to resit when the PMBOK release other editions in the future?
A14. No. You will not re-sit the examination. Your PMP credential remains valid and relevant. Q15. What are the benefits of becoming PMP certified to an individual?

Q16. What is allowed inside the exam?
A16. You are not allowed to take anything except your ID into the exam hall. Inside the examination center you will be provided with scratch papers, pencils, a calculator and an ear plug.
Q17. Am I allowed to take breaks during the exam?
A17. Yes, you are allowed to take breaks. You can drink or eat during your breaks. However, don’t forget that whatever time you take, the clock still ticks on your exam.

18. Will HSCL provides me with practice tests examination?
A18. At HCSL, we have over 3000 simulated computer based examination [CBT] that will prepare you for the PMP examination. Our specialised software perfectly simulates the same interface that you will see during the real examination. Our practice questions are designed to search for gaps in your knowledge before you sit for the real examination. We also have an analytical software that shows where your strengths and weaknesses are before you take the exam. This will allow you to bridge the gaps in your knowledge where weaknesses are found.
Please note that it is not the same examination that you will see in the real examination. This is just to prepare you. You will get the result and the review to every options you get wrong immediately you finish the test or when the time lapses using our specialised software.
