2022 Overview

• New enrollment portal

• New cost sharing strategy for medical premiums

• No major changes to medical and Rx plan deign

• No change to dental and vision premiums or plan design

• Consortium average is 5%

• COVID-19 expenditures Jan – June 2021 total $935,000 for all

covered VPCBC lives

• Worked with VPCBC advisors to analyze plan statistics to

determine how the college might slow the large increases for our community yet still provide

quality benefits

Funding Change Details

PERCENT CONTRIBUTION

• What we have now – 70% / 30%

• The College contributes a fixed percentage of the premium for all plans, regardless of total plan premiums

FLAT DOLLAR CONTRIBUTION

• Employer pays a fixed amount for each tier of coverage

• That established dollar value is subtracted from each plan’s total premiums, and the employee

pays the remaining portion

• Employees electing more

expensive plans will receive the

same amount from the employer

as those electing less expensive

plans
