TUITION AND FEE PAYMENT

All Fall 2021 semester charges are to be paid by Wednesday, August 25, 2021. If a balance remains after August 25, a $75.00 late payment will be charged. In addition, a 1.5% per month late charge on the average balance will be assessed to all unpaid student accounts unless on the Wheaton Installment Program.

COURSE DROPS/ADDS

Students desiring to drop and add courses must do so on Banner Self-Service or file drop and add forms with the Registrar’s Office by the established deadlines. A drop in total hours which affects tuition charges will result in a full-refund through September 7, with no refund thereafter.

WITHDRAWAL FROM COLLEGE

If it becomes necessary to withdraw completely from the College during the semester, the student must initiate the withdrawal process at the Student Development Office. A withdrawal form must be completed with all required signatures. A student who does not officially withdraw with the required approvals receives no refund. Consult the College Catalog for withdrawal refund policies.

U.S. VOTER REGISTRATION

The Higher Education Act of 1998 requires colleges and universities to make a good faith effort to make voter registration forms available to you. A limited number of voter

registration forms for the State of Illinois are available to students at Wheaton College during business hours at the Office of the Registrarand at fall term registration.

The Federal Election Commission also provides voter registration information at its website at http://www.eac.gov/voter.

The preferred method of registration is via Banner Self Service. You may initiate web registration at the time posted in your Banner Self Service account (see web registration instructions, below.)

All degree-seeking graduate and undergraduate students who plan to continue in the fall at Wheaton should initiate advance registration by April 30, 2021. Failure to do so may result in a cancellation of your housing assignment and may require an application for late registration and result in a $75 late registration fee.

Students applying for approved off-campus study for Fall semester need to complete the GOGLOBAL process and submit their registration statement to the Registrar’s office by April 30, 2021.

Please complete the following:

1. Make an appointment with your major advisor for advising.

2. Complete preliminary planning prior to your advisor meeting.

a. Check the catalog (catalog.wheaton.edu) for course descriptions, pre-requisites, and general requirements.

b. Check Degree Works for outstanding requirements. Degree Works is available under the Banner Self Service menu on the right side of your portal.wheaton.edu account.

3. Have your advisor provide you with your ALTERNATE (Registration) PIN.

DIRECTIONS FOR WEB REGISTRATION

1. Access Banner Self-Service via the Wheaton portal (portal.wheaton.edu). If you have difficulty accessing your account, please contact the Help Desk at 630.752.4357.

2. On your portal homepage, select Banner Self-Service.

3. Select STUDENT SERVICES 4. Select REGISTRATION

5. Select ADD OR DROP CLASSES 6. Select FALL 2021 TERM and submit.

7. When prompted, input the ALTERNATE (Registration) PIN as indicated on the registration page.

8. Input the CRN’s of the courses you wish to register for in the appropriate boxes and submit.

9. If a class is closed, certain classes will allow you to wait list electronically for the class. Select the wait list option from the drop-down box and submit.

10. The instructor will need to contact the Registrar’s Office to make any exceptions to registration for the course.

The following courses/programs may not be registered online:

1. Approved off-campus study

2. Students not returning to Wheaton in Fall 2021

For students registering for items 3-6 above, you may register for the balance of your schedule via Banner Self Service, and then email the appropriate forms/signatures to the Registrar’s Office ([email protected]) to complete your schedule. The forms are available in the Forms section of www.wheaton.edu/registrar.

Cancellation of registration must be made from your Wheaton email to [email protected].

Drop/Add policy

All students should ensure by the end of the drop/add period (September 7, 2021) that the classes they are attending are the classes for which they are registered. Questions should be directed to [email protected].

Degree Works

Degree Works is an on-line, web-based tool designed to help students navigate successfully to degree completion.

To access Degree Works, log in via the Wheaton Portal at https://portal.wheaton.edu.

On-line tutorials and FAQ’s are available at www.wheaton.edu/registrar.

Audit policy

Undergraduate

Any student may audit up to two courses a semester by filing an approved audit application at the Registrar's Office by the second week of the course. A $100 audit fee is charged per course. An audit does not meet any Wheaton

requirement. No credit is given for courses audited. To have the audit recorded on a student’s transcript, the student is required to complete certain course requirements. In addition to the audit fee, any course fees will also be

charged. Private lessons and independent studies cannot be audited.

Graduate School

Any student carrying a full-time academic schedule (12 or more semester hours) may audit one course without charge by filing an approved audit application at the Registrar's Office. In addition, part-time graduate students who will complete all graduation requirements by the end of the current semester are entitled to a free audit. No credit is given for courses audited. To have the audit recorded on a student’s transcript, the student is required to complete certain course

requirements. In addition to the audit fee, any course fees will also be charged. Part-time graduate students auditing courses are charged the student audit rate.

Spouse Audits: The audit privilege for a full-time graduate student may be used by the student's spouse if the student is

not auditing a course. Application for a spouse audit is made through the Graduate Admissions Office.

EXPERIMENTAL COURSES (on the schedule, but not in the catalog)

ANTH 320. Bollywood & Indian Society. This course explores images of Indian society that emerge through the medium of film. It highlights understanding of the Indian culture and society by focusing on topics that include gender inequalities, social injustice, poverty, oppression, basic human needs, and inaccessibility to education in Indian society. The course is relevant for all who are interested in cross-cultural work in general and the Indian Subcontinent in particular. (4 cr.) CRN 82870.

MUMS 230. Music Improvisation. An introduction to musical improvisation with a particular emphasis upon group improvisation. Focus upon creative listening skills, communicating through music, leading and supporting others. Audience participation and interdisciplinary improvisation are introduced as special topics. Visiting guest practitioners will share their perspectives. Open to instrumentalists and/or singers. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor. (2 cr.) Fee $108. CRN 82987.

URBN 390. Community-Based Research. This course is only open to students in the Aequitas Program in

Urban Leadership. Students can enroll for 0, 2, or 4 credits. In this course, students learn the principles and

methods of community-based research by conducting small-scale projects in collaboration with local community

organizations during their Wheaton in Chicago semester. Through these activities, students will learn about the

broader context of community-based organizations, their programming aimed at sustaining flourishing urban

communities, and how research can be leveraged to support it. Prerequisite: Participation in the Aequitas Program

in Urban Leadership. (0, 2, 4 cr.) CRN 82873.
