Plan for Communications Level 3
What you have to do...
You must put together a portfolio of evidence to show that you
can communicate well at Level 3. Your portfolio should include
evidence to meet the following 3 types of communication:
3.1 Speaking and Listening
3.2 Reading
3.3 Writing
How you are going to do it...
3.1 Speaking and listening
1. You need to provide evidence where you have taken part in two discussions with two or more people (one of the discussions has to be face to face)
You have to provide evidence that you have prepared for your discussion. You must meet the criteria on page 3.
3.1.3 (a)
2. You must provide evidence that you have made a presentation or given a talk for at least 8 minutes. (you can provide a witness statement with supporting
material, provided it meets all the criteria on page 4).
3.1.3(b)
3. You have to read, understand and synthesise two documents about the same subject (minimum 1000 words), one must contain complex information and one must contain an image.
You must provide your synthesis of the material you have read.
These documents can be linked to your research for your presentation in point 2.
You must meet the criteria listed on page 5.
3.2.1
4. You must write two different documents, giving different information to different audiences about complex subjects. One of your documents must be a minimum of 1000 words long.

Each document must be at least 1,000 words long and of a different type.
At least one must contain complex information or reasoning, and at least one must contain an image.

C3.3.1 – Write two documents of
different types, each one giving
different information to different audiences about complex
subjects in appropriate formats, using language that is appropriate to the purpose and audience. One document must be at least 1,000 words long.
For each document, there must be evidence of planning and at least one draft, with evidence of checking.
In final work, sentences must be formed correctly, with correct punctuation, spelling and grammar.
Paragraphing must be appropriate.
