I want to talk to you this morning about the Spirit of Elijah and the battle with the Jezebel spirit. My goal is to help you understand how the spirit of Jezebel operates and is trying to kill the prophetic voice and the building of fruitful Kingdom lives, ministries, and businesses in these last days. I am going to share with you some of my own personal experiences with this spirit throughout the message.
Malachi 4:5-‐‑6, Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”

The Spirit of Elijah was on John the Baptist before Jesus came the first time, and will rest on the generation before the second coming of the Lord.A. The purpose of the Spirit of Elijah is to PREPARE the way for the coming of the Lord by turning the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to their fathers…TURNING THE NATION BACK TO GOD.
B. They are a company of PROPHETS who are walking in signs and wonders with the word of the Father in their mouths releasing heaven to earth. They awaken the people from living OFF of the earth (from the earthly realm), and remind them of their identity and mission. C. Generational reformation. Their voices will begin to take on the political powers and shake
the thrones of witchcraft, religion, lawlessness and iniquity in the land.
D. The evil of selfishness and love of self in the last days will create a generation of fatherlessness so people will not receive their identity as sons of God. The Spirit of Elijah hastens the adoption into the family of God. Fatherlessness is epidemic in the nations because, as the Word says, in the last days men will be lovers of themselves not their children.

The Jezebel spirit operates through people but it’s not the people who are Jezebel. It usespeople both men and women.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly
places. Ephesians 6:12
Let’s look at Revelation 2 and 1Kings 18,19. There is a woman named Jezebel in both the Old and New Testaments. While these are actual persons, this is also a prevailing spirit that comes to destroy the prophets of the Most High God.
Read Rev 2: Church in Thyatira: aka. TOLERANT CHURCH.
1. Church is growing spiritually.
2. Calls herself a prophetess who is given a position of influence to TEACH the people (mentioned to give note that she prophecies accurately and is walking in power, person of influence). Influence is due to her nearness to those in authority.
3. Seduced the bondservants of the Lord to be involved in immorality (physical pleasure outside the will of God) and idolatry (accessing God through any other way than the Holy Spirit).
1 Cor 10:20-‐‑21–idol worshippers are interacting with demon spirits, an encounter with power but they are not by the power of the Holy Spirit. I cannot take you or lead you into a heavenly encounter with God, I can tell you how to posture yourself, and give you testimonies and practical examples, but it is the Holy Spirit who leads you into all truth. Him and Him alone.
Immorality defiles us physically (sexual immorality defiles us on the inside) and idolatry defiles us spiritually. Net result is that it shuts people down to fellowship with God and with people. THIS is a hindering spirit so we don’t advance and even go backwards.
Jerusalem counsel–Early church fathers decided that a Gentile didn’t have to become a Jew to be saved. They decided that had to do 4 things: stay away from sexual immorality, things sacrificed to idols, things strangled and from blood.
Allow: it means to ALLOW one to do as he wishes. (The first commandment in the satanic bible is DO WHAT THOU WILL). The Jezebel spirit is subtle and works through spiritual intimidation, lying, fear, deception. There are examples of this also playing out on a national/political level. The Jezebel spirit does not allow freedom to address/correct. If there is someone in your life, church or business that you dread confronting, it’s possible there is a spirit there.
controls, and one who tolerates or is willing to be controlled. Ahab was not a weak man (conquered more land for Israel than King David – not a shrinking violet).

STORY OF JEZEBEL IN THE OLD TESTAMENTA. Jezebel was the daughter of the Sidonian king who gave her to Ahab, king of Israel in order to form an alliance.
B. When she arrived, she set up idol worship to Baal and got her new husband to not only worship but to join with her in building an altar to Baal.
“…and he (Ahab) went and served Baal and worshipped him. Then he set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal which he built in Samaria” 1Kings 16:31-‐‑32
C. Jezebel hires 850 occultist prophets and feed them at her table.
D. Ahab provoked the Lord to anger more than any other king before him.
E. God sends Elijah to declare to Ahab that he will proclaim judgment on the land.
“As the Lord God of Israel lives, before who I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word”. 1Kings 17:1
F. AFTER 3 YEARS, the Lord tells Elijah to present himself to Ahab and I will send rain to the earth.
G. When Elijah meets Ahab, Ahab accuses him of being the problem. (The people who are influenced by the Jezebel spirit will experience anger at the person with spirit of Elijah not at the person with Jezebel spirit)
H. Elijah tells him that it is his idolatry and immorality that had caused judgment to come to Israel.
I. Elijah declares a showdown at Mt Carmel between the occultists and Elijah. So Elijah had them build an altar and sacrifice. They prayed all day and their God didn’t answer. J. Elijah repaired the altar of God (REBUILDS THE ALTAR) and put water on the wood and
sacrifice and digs a trench around it filled with water. Then prayed and God sent fire from heaven which lapped up all the water. Everybody saw the ingredients….
L. Jezebel threatens to kill Elijah. And he flees into the wilderness.

Seven effects of a Jezebel spirit (Jezebel spirit works together with two other spirits: Python, andLeviathan: Python will silence the prophet–no voice, no influence and Leviathan will twist communication (national level – swirling words that bewitch).
As long as you have authority, this spirit will try to attach itself to you. They are so wounded that they have to control people to keep from feeling rejected. Robert Morris of Gateway Church said, “The most subtle way that a Jezebel spirit gets into a leaders life is through a friend or close associate. They want to be your best friend, they feel called to you, called to minister to you, called by God to serve you, or God called me to be your intercessor.” We have people who work here and we have intercessors who pray for the church, but I only have one personal intercessor and that is my spiritual mother who wakes up at 4 am daily to pray for me. I am called to serve you. Again, this is not a person but a spirit that enters into a person through rebellion/rejection issues.
1. Fear – When Jezebel found out that Elijah had been successful, she threatens to kill him and Elijah
ran for his life. People that have a Jezebel spirit have to control. The minute we addressed this spirit, out came the accusations that were filled with spirit of murder and rage. Gripping, suffocating fear.
2. Isolation – when you want to get away from everybody and everything –
a. Solitude is different than isolation; solitude is getting alone with God. Isolation is I want to get away and be with me. I want to run and get into a cave. I wanted to leave town, leave reality and escape, watch TV while eating a gallon of ice cream.
4. Thoughts of suicide
5. DESIRE to quit
6. Sickness especially in the area of the sinuses (discernment)
7. Perverted sexual thoughts

The key to victory is not to allow this spirit to operate in your life. DO NOT TOLERATE it. a. You address it in the person and unless he or she repents, you remove them fromleadership and remove them from any personal influence with you.
b. This can also manifest through someone who feels called by God to keep you accountable to God and keep you from screwing up (control). Such a person often feels more spiritual than you and believes they are called to make sure you have a watchman over your ministry.
c. This happened to us and so I sought Godly counsel (men of proven Godly character) from some who had been in ministry leadership for over 20 years.
d. If you don’t deal with this, He will remove you and put someone else in your position who will stand against the spirit, and raise up a prophet who has twice your anointing. In Revelation, Jesus speaks strongly about how he will deal with us if we don’t deal with it, because it will destroy the works of God.
e. If you are dealing with this and you know you are dealing with it, stand up I want to pray for you. Repent for tolerating this spirit.
