Citizens Property Insurance

Overview:

The Long Term Data Center Facilities Program is an initiative of the approved data center strategic plan to consolidate Citizens data center operations into a purposed and protected environment. Success of this Program will ensure the long term survivability and sustainability of Citizens’ Data Center environments. To achieve the needed improvements, this plan has identified objectives and roadmaps to facilitate optimization of Data Center processes and reduce risk to core operative qualities (Protected, Secure, Redundant, Connected, Purposed, and

Managed) of Data Center operations, while also decoupling these facilities from Citizens General Office Space facilities.

Status

Significant progress has been made since last report. Additional phase and stage definition has been applied to the program activity.

Phase 1 – Program Management (Oversight, Procurements and Special Projects)

 The program team is preparing for the second 2012 Bi-Annual conformance review of the approved Data Center Strategy and Program in October.

 Program management team is currently revising resource projections for 2013 and updating program control documents (Financials, Schedule, Risk) for Q4 steering review.

Phase 2 - Data Center Provisioning (New Collocation Data Center site and Existing Disaster Recovery site)

 The majority of IT hardware infrastructure approved at April BOG has been procured and received into storage. The implementation vendors are being scheduled to begin hardware assembly and configuration in September, once the new data center environment has been constructed. The new data center environment is on plan to be released to Citizens on October 1st.

 Construction of Wide Area and Point to Point data network services into the data center environments is underway. Services are being procured and coordinated through the State Department of Management Services (DMS), My Florida Network (MFN).

Phase 3 - Data Center Migration

 Migration project management team is in full swing compiling asset and application data into a master scope record, for use by planning teams in September. Master scoping database is being coordinated with IT and organizational projects, for intersections which may cause changes to migration strategy or scope. Migration PM team to have benchmarks completed by end of August.

 Migration PM team is working with CSX (Collocation data center vendor) to engage migration planning resources for stage 2 planning activities. Engagement proposal and BOG Action Item is being presented at the August ISAC.

Phase 4 - Data Center Decommission

 No additional activity for this period at this time.
