- Please take your passport (or other official ID), your address in Tampere and the receipt of the Student Union payment with you. Be also prepared to tell your Finnish ID number (should you have one already).

- You need to submit your original secondary school certificate at registration

- Spring 2016 graduates: You need to submit also your transcript of records and the English translations of your transcript and certificate at registration

The Student Services will collect sign-ups for a guided Tampere City Tour (held on Tuesday). You can also sign up at the Student Services Office in the afternoon.

The student card is ordered from the Student Union of TUT. You may get the application either from the Student Union once at TUT or you can fill the electronic application form already beforehand and print it at

The correctly filled application must be delivered with a passport photo to the Student Union Office (Tietotalo Building, 1st Floor) where you can also get the card about one month later. The price for

the card is 10 euros in cash, and the price is collected when you get the card. The receipt of the

Student Union membership fee will work as your temporary student card. For Late Arrivals:

Registration checklist

ü Registration is possible between 22 August - 7 September 2016. During the first days of the orientation week (22 – 24 August) the registration takes place at the Admissions Office (Tietotalo Building) and after that at the Student Services Office (Kampusareena Building).

ü If you have taken the Finnish matriculation examination or International Baccalaureate, have a Finnish ID number and access to Finnish online banking, registration is also possible online in advance. Please follow the instructions you have received by email from the TUT Admissions Office.

How to proceed when registering on arrival:

ü Print out your personal registration form (sent to you by e-mail in August) before your arrival at TUT and take it with you to Finland

ü Pay the Student Union membership fee once in Finland. Remember to use your personal reference number and keep the receipt safe! Payment from

abroad is not recommended due to the high risk of failed money transfer.

ü Complete your registration at the Admissions Office (TC161) with the receipt of the payment (From Thursday 25 August onwards at the Student Services Office)

ü Remember to present your passport, your address in Finland and your original secondary school certificate at registration. Be also prepared to tell your Finnish ID number (should you have one already).

ü Spring semester 2016 graduates: Present your original secondary school

certificate, transcript of records and the English translations of the both documents at registration

Once you are registered as a student:

ü Apply for your student card at the Student Union Office (Tietotalo Building, 1st

floor). The receipt of the Student Union membership fee will work as a temporary student card.

ü Pick up your basic user account and password from the IT Helpdesk (Kampusareena Building, 2nd Floor)

ü Sign up for courses via POP Portalwww.tut.fi/pop. Please note that students

need to enroll for the courses taking place during the 1st teaching period by Thursday, 25 August.
