GENERAL INFORMATION

Type of access: Unlimited

Incoming Server Name: pop3.mweb.net

Outgoing Server Name: smtp.mweb.net

Primary DNS (Northern Region): hurricane.mweb.co.za (196.2.45.101) Primary DNS (Southern Region): lightning.mweb.co.za (196.2.53.140)

Secondary DNS (Northern Region): lightning.mweb.co.za (196.2.53.140) Secondary DNS (Southern Region): tsunami.mweb.co.za (196.2.48.227)

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp.mweb.net

DETAILED STEPS ON CONFIGURING WINDOWS FOR E-MAIL

Set-up For Microsoft Outlook:

1. Left-click on the "Microsoft Outlook Icon" on you desktop

2. Click on the "Tools" menu and then click on the "Services" option 3. This should open the “Services” menu

4. Click on the “Add” button

5. Click on the “Internet E-mail” option and then click on “Ok”

6. Type in a name for your e-mail account

7. Type in your name in the “Name” block

8. Type in your e-mail address of your domain name e.g. [email protected]

9. Click on the “Servers” tab at the top of the “Email Account Properties” menu

10. For the “Incoming mail (POP3)” server address, type in “mail” followed by the rest of your domain name. Do not include the “www” of your domain name e.g. if your domain name is www.xyz.co.za, then your incoming mail address will be mail.xyz.co.za

11. In the “Outgoing mail (SMTP)” block, type in the following address: venus.mweb.co.za

12. Type in your username and password as given to you by the sales consultant and as stated in the welcome letter. Also tick the “Remember password” option

13. Click on the “Connection” tab at the top of the “E-mail Account Properties” menu

14. Select the “Connect using my phone line” option

15. Under the “Modem” section, please select your current active dial-up connection

16. Click on "Apply"

17. Your Microsoft Outlook is now set up with your Business Mail account

Set-up For Microsoft Outlook Express

1. Left-click on the “Microsoft Outlook Express” icon on your desktop

2. Type in your name in the space provided

3. Click "Next"

4. Select the “I already have an e-mail address that I’d like to use” option

5. Type in your business mail e-mail address in the space provided

6. Click on "Next" to continue

7. In the “My incoming mail server is a _ server” select “POP3” from the drop down list

8. For the “Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server” address, type in “mail” followed by the rest of your domain name. Do not include the “www” of your domain name e.g. if your domain name is www.xyz.co.za, then your incoming mail address will be mail.xyz.co.za

9. In the “Outgoing mail (SMTP) server” block, type in the following address: venus.mweb.co.za

10. Click on the “Next” button to continue

11. Type in your username and password as given to you by the sales consultant and as stated in the welcome letter. Also tick the “Remember password” option

12. Click on the "Next" button to continue

13. Click on the “Finish” button. You have now successfully set up your e-mail connection

1. Left-click on the "Microsoft Outlook Icon" on you desktop

2. Click on the "Tools" menu and then click on the "E-mail Accounts" option

3. Select the “Add a new e-mail account” option

4. Click on the “Next” button to continue

5. Select the “POP3” option

6. Click on the “Next” button to continue

7. Under the “User Information” section, type in your name and business mail e-mail address

8. Under the “Server Information” section, for the “Incoming mail (POP3)” server address, type in “mail” followed by the rest of your domain name. Do not include the “www” of your domain name e.g. if your domain name is www.xyz.co.za, then your incoming mail address will be mail.xyz.co.za

9. Under the “Server Information” section, for the “Outgoing mail (SMTP)” server address, type in the following address: venus.mweb.co.za

10. Under the “Logon Information” section, type in your username and password as given to you by the sales consultant and as stated in your welcome letter

11. If you wish to, you may click on the “Test Account Settings” in order to make sure that the details that you have entered are correct and working

12. Click on the “Next” button to continue

13. Click on the “Finish” button

14. Your business mail account has now been successfully set up and you are ready to start sending and receiving e-mail

Add New Business Mail Box (New Client)

Go through the configuration of setting up mail box as described in this document

Could be an access problem Refer to Access support document or contact the helpdesk

Could be an incorrect email address

Double check your correct email address as stated in your welcome letter or see if it is correctly spelt

Incorrect Password

Double check your password as stated in your welcome letter or contact the helpdesk with your customer number

DNS Settings are incorrect Contact the MWEB Helpdesk to assist in testing these settings

Cannot receive Business Mail

Incorrect Settings Go through the steps as described in this document or contact the help desk

Cannot get mail Cannot connect to incoming server

1. Try and use the IP address of the MWEB Business POP3 Mail Server

2. Make sure that your dial connection is available

3. Make sure that your domain is active

Cannot send mail Cannot connect to outgoing mail server

1. Try and use the IP address of the MWEB Business SMTP Mail Server 2. Make sure the your dial connection

Cannot login Incorrect username

1. Ensure that the login username is full email address
