YSI Profile Wizard - New Release 5.7.0.5
These instructions for Installation of the YSI Profile Wizard (5.7.0.5) are for customers running EXO sondes on their
profilers ONLY.

SONDE SET-UP PROCESS USING KOR-EXO PROGRAM

Update the KOR-EXO program to the latestversion. (1.0.12 or later)
To check the version currently installed, open the EXO program, click on ‘About KOR-EXO’ on the help screen.
Visit http://www.exowater.com to download the latest KOR-EXO program.

Open KOR-EXO, establish a connection to thesonde using the SOA-USB adapter or through Bluetooth.
Click ‘Options’
Click ‘Firmware’.
Click ‘Update Network’ to update the EXO
Sonde firmware to the latest version (1.0.18 or later) and update EXO Sensors firmware to latest version. (3.0.0 or later)

Click ‘Deploy’ icon.Click ‘Read Current Sonde Settings’. Click ‘Edit’ icon.

Add Vertical Position (meters) as an SDI12Parameter in the EXO Sonde output by selecting in the left column and adding it to the right column. You may choose to Add or Remove Depth (meters).
NOTE: Vertical Position MUST NOT be the first parameter on this list – it is properly listed in this example as third on the list.

Click ‘Save, Deploy, No Logging’ icon.6.
Document the SDI-12 Parameter order as this willbe needed during the Profile Wizard parameter selection in Step 4 of the YSI Profile Wizard Set-up Instructions.
YSI PROFILE WIZARD SET-UP

Uninstall any previous versions of YSI Profile Wizardusing your computers program manager in your control panel.
Install YSI Profile Wizard. (5.7.0.5 or later)

After installation, open the YSI Profile Wizard program.Select ‘Create new station’ then click ‘New’. Select the options desired.
Click ‘Next’ to move to the next step.

In (Step 6 of 7) of the Wizard, the Sonde Report Output has selected Vertical Position (meters) as default in the right column.Continue to select all the parameters that have been enabled in the EXO Sonde as done in KOR-EXO Step 6 of EXO sonde set-up.

The very last screen of the Wizard will display a report of the options selected.Click the checkbox ‘Create binary DLD file’ Click ‘Finish’.

The Wizard has now generated 4 files. (2 additional files will be generated if MET option was selected).cr1 (This is the settings file. – Contains all the
options the user selected in the Wizard)
YSI_VPS_30.4.dld (This is the binary file. – Contains
the encrypted Profiler firmware)
.pfw (This is the Profile Wizard file. – Use to modify
or recreate the firmware)
.rpt (This is the report file. – Use for reference only)
Optional MET files below
_Met.cr1 (This is the MET settings file. – Contains all
the MET options the user selected in the Wizard)
YSI_MET_9.0.dld (This is the binary file. – Contains
the encrypted MET firmware)

Attach the sonde to the Profiler.8.
Connect to the Profiler using the Loggernet ConnectScreen either remotely through the modem or direct connection with the diagnostic cable.
Download all data from the Profiler by clicking
‘Collect Now’ icon. This is done to back up all data
currently on the CR-1000.

Click ‘Format’ icon.DO NOT close the File Control window after the
format process is complete. This will erase all data
on the CR1000. Make sure you have done Step 8 above to save your existing data.

Click ‘Send icon.12.
The Open dialog box will appear.Navigate to the folder containing the new files. Select ‘All Files’ from the dropdown menu in the
lower right corner.

The Select Run Options dialog box will appear.Unselect ‘Run Now’ box
Unselect ‘Run On Power-up’ box.
Click ‘OK’.

The .dld file will then be transferred to the Profiler datalogger.16.
The Open dialog box will appear.Select the .cr1 file and click ‘Open’.

The Select Run Options dialog box will appear.Select ‘Run Now’ box
Select ‘Run On Power-up’ box.
Click ‘OK’.
The .cr1 file will then be transferred to the Profiler datalogger, and then the .cr1 file and .dld file will be compiled together.

The process of compiling could take up to 5 minutes.20.
Close the File Control window using the “x” of thewindow.

Continue normal Profiler operation.Port & Flags have not changed.
Set Flag 2 ‘low’ then click Flag 5 once to start an immediate profile.

If the MET option was selected, Steps 8-20 should be repeated with the MET datalogger using the _MET.cr1 and YSI_MET_9.0.dld files.MODIFYING PROFILER SETTINGS
In the future if you wish to modify the profiler settings, the dld file will not be required to be created again. The new .cr1 file will be compiled with the dld that already exists on the datalogger.

Navigate to the .pfw file and click ‘Open’. Select the options desired.
Click ‘Next’ to move to the next step.

The very last screen of the Wizard will display a report of the options selected, click ‘Finish’.It will not be necessary to click the checkbox ‘Create binary DLD file’, since the DLD file was previously created. Leave unchecked.
If the original DLD file is still in the Profiler
datalogger’s file system it does not need to be sent again. It will only be necessary to send the modified .cr1 program.
