Your choice

As a student of the Master program in General Management you have the freedom of choice: you may choose between a general orientation with specialization competences, and take a look at all fields, or you concentrate on a few selected areas and become a specialist with general competenc-es. Depending on your individual targets, you may freely combine introductory, subject-related and methodological, or practice-related, value-oriented and character-building elements. It is up to you to determine your focus and extent of generalization, speed and intensity of studies, topics to be ex-plored, study periods abroad, entrepreneurial activities and/or social business projects.

Germany’s first private university was founded in 1983. We feel committed to Humboldt’s educa-tional ideals and interpret them in new, even radical ways. Our focus is on the individual student, the development of his or her personal preferences and potentials. We strive to be an entrepreneur-ial university and to integrate research, teaching and practical application. Top positions in numer-ous rankings regularly demonstrate our achievements in teaching and research. Student educa-tion at UW/H has a strong commitment to research and practice, value orientaeduca-tion and character building.

Recent trends and radical changes in the global economy demonstrate that successful entrepreneurs and business decision-makers require a sense of responsibility and social competence as much as excellent subject-related knowledge. Consequently, our primary goal is to educate economics gradu-ates with not only superb training but also character and the ability to look beyond the boundaries of their discipline. Even after the Bologna reforms, UW/H offers freedom and flexibility for individual study organization according to personal preferences, with a solid basis in research and strong prac-tical relevance.
