The Next Best Thing to Being in the Driver’s Seat

Real-time fleet management This easy-to-install device is available in a variety of packages to meet the needs of all mixed fleets. Depending on the connections available in each vehicle, the V3™ will collect data either from GPS data or straight from the vehicle’s engine control unit (ECU). The V3™ also provides an integration platform as the hub that connects all Zonar in-vehicle devices, such as our inspection module, EVIR®, and optional inputs (I/Os)

to capture events. With a 5-year warranty, the V3™ is the best value for your customers’ fleets.

Tells your customers what they need to know

Our V3™ provides the first GPS system to capture data in five dimensions: latitude, longitude, time, odometer, and, with the Ground Traffic Control™ package, fuel consumption. The V3™ provides a new level of precision and gives your customers a real-time window into their fleet’s activities, so they can make important decisions about operations based on the latest data.

Available in these packages: • Track & Trace Service is a simple

plug-in, available for light-duty cars and trucks. It provides GPS tracking, location and path for vehicle location and tracking. • Track, Trace & Idle Service

will provide alerts if the Check engine or Stop engine light comes on for light-duty vehicles (Class 1-3) with an OBD-II or JBus connection. True idle time is collected for preventing fuel loss and waste from excessive idling.

• Track, Trace, Idle & Diagnostics Service offers tracking plus diagnostics and fuel reporting. If there’s an engine issue, the V3™ will receive an alert via the vehicle’s computer. These fault codes are transmitted instantly, so troubleshooting begins while the vehicle is on the road, saving your customers time and keeping their vehicles on the road.

What will the V3™ do for your customers?

• Integrate tracking, diagnostics and other add-ons, including our inspection module and auxiliary inputs.

• Monitor geo-fencing tracking perimeters.

• Capture every turn of the key, every stop and start, as well as speed, idle time and odometer. • Protect assets by alerting

management when a potentially dangerous situation occurs. • Record data in five dimensions:

latitude, longitude, time,

odometer and fuel consumption.

How Z Pass™ works:

1. Students entering or exiting the bus swipe their ID cards while passing the Z Pass™ reader.

2. Student and driver hear an audible

beep, confirming that the card was

read.

3. The recorded time and location data are automatically and securely sent to

Zonar’s web-based Ground Traffic

Peace of Mind for Student Safety

Smarter student transportation Z Pass™ improves the safety and efficiency of pupil transportation, enabling school officials to quickly track where and when students enter and exit their buses, and then analyze that information to make data-driven decisions about transportation needs. It provides a new level of peace of mind for both staff and parents.

Powerful data for operations All ridership data collected from student card swipes is immediately accessible via Zonar’s web-based Ground Traffic Control™ application and organized with data from all other Zonar devices. This data can then be accessed, perhaps to see where a lost student got off the bus, or analyzed, perhaps to increase bus optimization throughout the year.

Designed with schools in mind Day to day, Z Pass™ will provide accurate and immediate answers for parents wondering if and when their student got on or off the bus. Long-term, it will automate the process for generating reports for Medicaid reimbursements, McKinney-Vento Act, and other cost recovery efforts, stretching budgets with minimal administrative burden.

Loading process stays the same Customers say it works because Z Pass™ doesn’t slow the loading or unloading process. No other action is required other than tapping the card to the reader as the student gets on or off the bus. This simple act will provide your customers with a wealth of information that will benefit employees at every level and streamline student transportation.

What will Z Pass™ do for your customers?

• Provide data to make informed decisions based on facts. • Record the time, date and

location of each entrance and exit.

• Answer parents’ and school

officials’ questions instantly and

accurately.

• Export information in CSV for data analysis and XML for mapping.

• Provide authorities a list of students on a bus in case of an emergency situation.

• Automate student and mileage

tracking for efficient billing of field trips, off-site vocational

training and other billable activities.

Uardians

An Answer to “Where’s My Child’s Bus?”

Empowers parents, saves time ZTA™ will help school district parents, guardians and students get the most out of transportation services by providing customized bus location reporting. In the morning, guardians can watch the bus approach on the ZTA™ app and send students to the bus stop at an appropriate time, with minimal waiting in inclement weather. In the afternoons, parents and guardians who pick children up from the bus stop will save time by seeing when the bus is approaching in order to meet their child promptly. Saves schools time and money By giving parents real-time bus location, schools can significantly reduce calls from parents asking, “Where’s my child’s bus?” This will save administrative staff hours of work over the school year.

Easy and secure

Parents and guardians can log-in easily using their own social media credentials. They can then name each route for easy reference and save information for multiple routes in a single account. For security, schools can restrict permissions to parents through the use of custom school or district names, access codes, and individual routes.

Available from anywhere, any time ZTA™ provides parents information from iOS and Android devices, as well as the web browser of any Internet-connected computer. The map displays the child’s home location, the location of the bus, and several minutes of recent route history. With ZTA™, school districts, parents, and students will all benefit from up-to-date information.

Answers Directly to Parents

A whole new level of comfort Using the information gathered from the Z Pass™, the Z Pass+™ program sends notifications of where and when children get on and off the school bus directly to parents’ cellphones. This new, simple solution gives parents the peace of mind that comes with knowing their children arrived safely at the bus stop.

Reduces calls to schools

Parents will no longer have to call the school to know if, when, and where their student got on or off the bus. They now have access to the same information the school uses to answer questions about bus riders. With this capability, they can act right away if they discover their child is not where he or she is supposed to be.

Provides real-time answers

After creating a Z Pass+™ account

online, parents can log into a password-protected website to view their child’s bus riding activity. For added convenience, parents can always change their instant alerts and add new phone numbers. Numbers can be added for grandparents, baby sitters and anyone else who might be concerned with a student’s safe arrival home.

Simple and secure

All it takes is one easy setup on the secure Z Pass+™ website to notify parents of card scans via text message. Since students already use Z Pass™ cards when they board or exit the bus, so no additional action is required from students or bus drivers.

What will Z Pass+™ do for your customers?

• Alert parents and guardians via text message to ridership activity.

• Reduce calls to schools

regarding transportation, saving administrative staff time.

• Save valuable resources, with no demands on existing IT infrastructure or personnel. • Provide address and time of

card swipe as well as a map of location.

• Track ridership of multiple children and provide alerts to multiple numbers from a single account.

• Speed the search for missing children.

Dallas Rackow, Director of Transportation Freeport School District

“Student ridership tracking with Z Pass+

provides parents with a level of security and confidence

we didn’t know was possible. Calls to the transportation

department are no longer necessary.”

Quantifying Driver Activities

Count, sum, and map activities With I/Os, dispatch can see where and when a driver used a seat belt, turned on lights and more. Within our I/O reports, your customers will see how many times a school bus open its door. They can sum how many miles a continuous I/O was used. They can even track these activities within a certain geo-fence of interest. These multi-purpose connections will help your customers manage their fleets by exception.

How it works

The I/O module collects data from inputs, detecting from off-on-off with an active range of 8-30 volts. Speed, heading, idle, stop and start are monitored by the V3™, so gathering those metrics will not take up an I/O connection.

Amazing alerting

Zonar software offers your customers the ability to configure alerts based on I/O connections. For example, fleet managers can receive an alert if the a safety arm is out while the vehicle is traveling more than 30 mph. Or they could get an alert if a driver is not wearing a seat belt two minutes after the engine is turned on.

Many options to meet needs Some uses school districts have found for I/Os include seat belt on/ off, door open/closed, wheelchair lift, stop arm, alarm, engine pre-heater, checkmate power, and parking brake. I/Os have even been used around geo-fenced railroad crossings to ensure the driver follows proper procedure in these instances.

What will I/Os do for your customers?

• Map each instance of an I/O, pinpointing activities such as door opening and closing. • Track the path of a continuous

I/O.

• Alert about the use or the lack of use of an auxiliary device, such as a seat belt.

• Count instances of activities.

• Sum miles of continuous activities.

• Filter activities by geo-fence.

The I/O module shows the path an asset traveled while auxiliary inputs were engaged. The associated report also counts the number of instances and sums the miles traveled.

The Fastest Help to Drivers in Need

Just in case

Drivers on the road can quickly find themselves in dangerous situations. For the highest level of safety and protection, Zonar offers a Panic Button to facilitate a quick response in case of an emergency situation. If a driver is in danger or needs help immediately, he or she can push this button to send an alert to managers or dispatch. This signal prompts the GPS to up its data reporting rate to once every 10 seconds.

Send help quickly

In order to find help, dispatch users can enter into the Location Report to find the vehicle. There they can right-click on the asset and select “Closest 5 Assets.” This will give dispatchers a list of the closest vehicles, to send the fastest help possible.

Alerts for emergencies

The Panic Button can be linked to alerts for emergency situations. These alerts can be sent to one person, a group of people, or everyone in the organization. Hopefully drivers will never need the emergency button, but if they ever do, your customers will be glad to have it. Drivers will appreciate the benefit, adding to driver retention and staff morale. Small investment, big payoff The Panic Button comes with a one-time hardware cost and is installed at the same time as the V3™ GPS device. There is no monthly fee. For this small one-time investment, your customers can rest assured that their drivers have a quick response in case of the worst case scenario.

What will the Panic Button do for your customers?

• Protect buses by alerting management immediately of when a potentially dangerous situation arises.

• Alert management via email or text message of an emergency

situation occurring in the field. • Increase GPS reporting to once

every 10 seconds to provide pinpoint tracking of a vehicle or driver in danger.

The Most Important Information, Now

Knows what your customers need to

Zonar’s real-time ZAlerts provide customizable and configurable alerts to make sure the right people get the most important information as quickly as possible. This feature offers the benefit of peace of mind. Your customers will know if any driver is putting others in danger by speeding, or wasting fuel and money by idling excessively. Your customers won’t just know later; they can put a stop to it right away.

Prevent waste and halt dangerous practice

ZAlerts were designed to make sure drivers are operating within the boundaries of safety, efficiency and compliance. With these alerts, management can be guaranteed that their assets are being operated with minimal risk and cost. Alerts are communicated via pop-up window within the Ground Traffic Control™ application, email and/or SMS text message.

Your customers choose the level of alert

For each fully customizable alert, your customers will be able to choose a low, medium or high priority level. Users will be able to choose which alerts go to which managers and in which form: email, text message or pop-up alert. Immediate results

With ZAlerts, your customers will see improvement in operational efficiencies and safety across the entire organization from the first day they use the system.

(27)

What will ZAlerts do for your customers?

• Save fuel by preventing idling. Sitting in the vehicle while the engine is on may seem harmless, but it wastes tens of thousands of dollars per year. Set an acceptable time frame and be alerted when drivers idle for longer to save on fuel loss and stop greenhouse gas emissions.

• Prevent unauthorized use. The Activity Alert works like the GPS Zone alert, restricting vehicles to their appropriate time of use instead of place. Both prevent theft and unauthorized use. • Keep vehicles where they

should be. ZAlerts will let your customers know if a vehicle enters a prohibited area or exits its work zone. Either incident can be a sign of theft or unauthorized use, which puts organizations at risk of fuel loss at least, and a total vehicle loss at worst. This alert uses the names your customers give to their geo-fences, making it user-friendly.

• Prevent dangerous speeding. Until now, it was impossible to know if drivers were speeding until they got a ticket or an accident occurred. Now your customers can prevent costly and dangerous situations, minimizing risk, by setting alerts

to be notified when a vehicle is

traveling above the speed they deem safe.

The Power to Protect the Fleet

Geo-fences let our system know where your customers’ vehicles should and should not be, what their drivers should and should not be doing, and what kind of activities they want to know about. Geo-fences make it easy to locate assets by using the names your customers give them, instead of addresses.

Simple to draw

A geo-fence is a virtual area your customers draw on the map to define a place of interest. They can outline as many geo-fences as they need and change them at any time within our system. We provide three options to address a variety of situations:

• Polygons: Fit areas of any shape, defining perimeters. • Lines: Define a point of crossing or speeding.

• Circles: Outline an area within a certain distance. Know who is where

Within each geo-fence, our system knows when an asset exits or enters and how many miles it has been driven within that area. With geo-fencing, managers keep track of drivers without having to watch the map, resolving many personnel issues without confrontation.

Summarize data by geo-fence

Geo-fencing will help make sure drivers arrive on time, provide data for billing if needed, and help your customers know how much time has been spent at each location. Reports and maps can be filtered by geo-fence, so your customers can analyze the activity happening in each area. Keep drivers on the path

Geo-fencing is great for keeping assets out of prohibited areas. Your customers can opt to receive an alert via text message or email if a driver enters a location off-limits. If they find that drivers are going to an inappropriate location while on the clock, fleet management can draw a geo-fence around the area and run a report to find out who has been there and how much time was spent at that location up to the last year.

Provides location-based intelligence

Geo-fencing provides managers the kind of control we could have never imagined a decade ago. This amazing capability offers assurance that vehicles are in safe hands, that money is not being wasted on time card padding, and that fuel is not being used for personal errands. This will be a great value to Thomas Built customers.

What will Geo-fences do for your customers?

• Prevent unauthorized vehicle use.Geo-fences can create an alert to let your customers know if drivers exit an area that their vehicles are supposed to stay in, • Track vehicles on fleet terms.

Geo-fences turn coordinates and addresses into labels that are easy to recognize. Using the same terms your customers

use in the yard, Ground Traffic

Control™ provides a vehicle’s activities as they enter geo-fences, including duration and miles driven.

• Alerts as vehicles approach. Circular geo-fences around a location give warning when an asset is about to reach its destination. Your customers will get advance notice that vehicles are arriving, so staff can be ready and eliminate delays. Save even more time by importing multiple stops and automatically applying a circular geo-fence to each one. • Address complaints using

data. If a citizen says a drivers was speeding, your customers can now simply draw a linear geo-fence across the road

in question, set the speed parameters, and query whether

any of their drivers were speeding while passing that strip of road, any time over the

last year. The conflict is resolved

using data.

Map Views for Every Need

Zonar offers several mapping views that change with one click, and all are customizable with layers such as geo-fences, traffic, weather and labels, so your customers can see exactly what’s happening with their fleets.

Layers Add Value to Any View

Traffic, weather, geo-fences, user maps and labels can be shown or hidden on any map view.

Customizable Icons

Zonar maps default to color-coded arrows that point in the direction in which the asset is headed. We also provide a variety of industry-specific icons, so your customers can see at a glance which types of assets are where.

Road View shows assets on an atlas-like map. Easy to read and quick to load, this view shows simple representations of water, parks and buildings.

Bird’s Eye View and other satellite views display buildings, roads and landmarks in amazing detail, providing the most vivid picture of assets’ locations.

Traffic affects your customers’ fleets’ schedule and ability to get work done. Now your customers can keep a close eye on it with this map layer and route their vehicles around problem areas to save time.

Weather can be overlaid on all maps within Ground Traffic Control. Knowing what precipitation may be affecting the work day of your customers’ fleets will help their drivers avoid delays.
