On a sunny day at the University of Hawaii, Emanuel and Bryceson joined the Rainbow Warriors practice. Fans sat in the stadium and cheered “Go Bows!” as Bryceson caught passes from Quarterback Ikaika Woolsey.
Newton’s 1st Law says an object in motion stays in motion at a constant speed in a straight line. When Coach Rolo tripped, his body kept going forward until the turf stopped him.
Bryceson went back to throwing passes with Ikaika and Emanuel went back to practicing his kicking with Rigo. Emanuel made a field goal, Rigo patted Emanuel on the back “Nice kick kid”. There were forces everywhere as they threw and kicked the footballs! .

Force - a push or a pull

The Coach, Ikaika, and Bryceson went on the field while Emanuel went back to kicking with Rigo. Coach wants to show what it’s like to be a quarterback when the defense gets to you. So he stands between Ikaika,Bryceson and pushes them with equal force. Bryceson flies backwards but Ikakia barely moves. Bryceson picks himself up off the turf “Ouch, Coach, why’d you do that?”

Coach Rolo says “Bryceson, I wanted to show you the importance of size in football, you need to lift weights to bulk up!”
Mass - Everything is made up of tiny invisible pieces. The amount and type of these pieces is the mass of something. Basically, mass is the amount of“stuff” in something. It’s sort of like weight (you’ll learn the difference between mass and weight in high school!). The boys had small masses, the college players had HUGE masses
Rigo was teaching Emanuel kicking techniques.
Emanuel wanted to kick the football though the goal post, so he kicked the football with a slow kick and it didn’t go through the goal post. Rigo said, “Hey,

Emanuel you got to kick it faster and put your foot more into the kick. Emanuel did that and he got it through the goal post.
Newton’s 2nd Law also explains when a small force and a big force acts on something, the big force speeds up slower. So when Emanuel put a small force on the football, it
Now do you wanna try out the sleds? Coach Rolo said. Sure, says Emanuel. Emanuel hits the sled with all his strength. The sled did not move at all, but Emanuel flew backwards.
Acceleration is when something speeds up, slows down or changes direction. When Bryceson picks up speed, he accelerates
Hi, Emanuel and Bryceson !
Hope you enjoyed reading this book. It was really hard to write because it is hard to explain Newton’s Laws to elementary school kids. Also, we wanted to pass the class so we had to write it. But, in the end, it wasn’t that bad.
