A two-way movement of students between two institutions.

Providing students a multi-cultural learning experience.

Offering EdUHK students a

study abroad experience

Eligibility

Applicants should have a minimum

GPA of 2.5* or above

by

the time of application and before departure for the

exchange;

Applicants should fulfill the

general requirements

as well as

specific requirements set by the host institutions

, if any.

Requirements such as field of study, language proficiency

(English

or other languages), GPA requirement, year of

study, etc., can be found from our exchange partners'

factsheets;

Applicants should have

completed at least one full-time year

of study at EdUHK by the time of going on exchange; and

Applicants should have an acceptable level of language

proficiency, as appropriate.

^IELTS (academic version) result and TOEFL result are accepted by institutions with English requirements in general.

Points to Note

Students who participated in SEP before are welcome to

apply but a lower priority will be given

so that other

students can have the opportunity in joining SEP.

Transcripts issued by the host institutions normally would be

available two to three months after the completion of

exchange. While credit transfer cannot be processed until

the transcript is provided, students who plan to

go on

exchange in their final year final semester are reminded to

consider the risk of delay in graduation due to the credit

transfer matter.

Any semester from Year 2(Sem I) to Year 5(Sem I)

Students are not encouraged to go for exchange in Year 2 (Sem II), Year 3 (Sem II) and Year 5 (Sem I) which clash the BP; and Year 4 (Sem II) which clashes HPI. If students participate the exchange in these programme-year/semester, their graduation may be deferred.

For GS students

If GS students would like to go for exchange in Year 3 (Sem I) or Year 4 (Sem I), students need to approach SPFEO for special arrangement of BPs in advance. Otherwise, their graduation may be deferred.

1. English test result

IELTS and TOEFL results are valid for 2 years. English test result that

will expire by 30 April (inclusive) of the exchange application year

(e.g. 30 April 2021 for SEP 2021/22) would be considered as invalid

If you plan to sit for IELTS/ TOEFL exam, please make sure the

result can be ready before the application deadline.

2. Language proficiency letter

If a language proficiency letter is required, you may contact your

instructor/ professor in the EdUHK and explain the purpose of the

letter. It is not a must to find an instructor or professor from

language departments but he/she should have opportunities to

observe your language ability and make recommendation.

Global Learning Enhancement Fund (GLEF)

Available for all undergraduate students

The GLEF amount will subsidize up to 50% of your

exchange expenditure, cap at HK$10,000 (depends on

your GLEF balance), whichever is lower. Eligible area for

GLEF in SEP:

Transportation (one set of return flight tickets)

Block Credit Transfer (BCT) for Outbound Exchange

Programme (SEP)

Number of credits for BCT: up to 15 credit points (year 3 to 5)

Number of credits for BCT: up to 18 credit points (year 1 to 2)

Complete the courses conducted at the host institution and

present the transcript to GAO

BCT only transfer the credits earned in the student exchange.

Courses transferred will NOT be counted towards EdUHK’s GPA

Subject area matching is NOT required in claiming non-major

course, e.g. minor, free electives and GE breadth course. BCT

Policy for SEP provides students more flexibility in course

selection at the host university.
