Featuredescription

Additional attributes and views are supported by this BF such as material data for storage location and

for the warehouse. In addition, several enhancements to previously delivered views are provided and

offered on the UI.

Business value

The data model now offers more fields and allows an out-of-the box usage of Master Data Governance

for Material. Depending on his needs the customer can decide which of the UIs he will use. It is even

possible to use the two UIs simultaneously during workflow operations or for different change request

Common OOTB Workflows in MDG 6.1 & 7.0

§

SAP has delivered several Workflow templates for MDG

§

and also a generic template that can be used with BRF+ Rule engine for Rule-Based workflow

MDG – Material:

§

A generic Rule-Based Workflow template (WS60800086) is delivered for all CR Types.

Support

Parallel

Change

Request

Multiple

Change

Requests

per

Material

at

the

Same

Time

Why?

MDG’s comprehensive data models

Ø

MDGM many views, >400 attributes,

including organization-dependent data

One object, multiple owners & maintainers

Ø

Ø

During change, data of plant A is

processed and approved in parallel and

independently by other people than data of

plant B

Goal:

Faster

organizations

are

not

required

to

wait

for

the

slowest!

Multiple & concurrent reasons for changes

Ø

Ø

All in parallel: Add new plant data (long

duration!), update of dimensions, urgent

correction of wrong description

Goal:

Long

term

changes

do

not

block

urgent

corrections!

What?

Parallel Change Requests as standard

feature of MDG 7.0

Ø

Ø

Initiate and process concurrent changes to

the same object

Independent processing of each change

Ø

request e.g. own notes, change log,

process flow and processors, individual

approval, rejection and finalization (i.e.

timely independent)

Consistency by preventing that the same

attributes are changed by concurrent

change requests
