The meeting was called to order by Mr. Fetterolf at 6:30 P.M. on motion of Alice Bergida, seoonded by Robert McInerney. Onmotion of Morton T.enenbaum, seconded by Judi Porpora, the meeting recessed to Executive Sef;lsion.

On motion, of Suzanne Kleinknecht, seconded by Vivian Cahn, the meeting returned to Public session at 8:10 P.M.

' n ' " Mr. Fetterolf enthusia.stioally reported that Dr. Roberts has : 1 notified the Board that' he wishes ,to extend his contract for

!;j another year. Emphasizing the importance of the job of superintendent, Mr. Fetterolf stated he felt that Dr. Roberts was perhaps the most qualified superintendent in the state and that he anticipated another productive year.

Mr. Fetterolf also spoke of the auditors' report received by the Board, noting that although the district's f\lndbalance continues to decline the district received an unqualified "clean bill of health. VI Also noted were the informal meetings held between the Board and library board members in which was discussed how.the district and library can work contructively together. Mr. Fetterolf said he looks forward to cordial continued relationship wi th the library. Also noted by Mr. Fetterolf was' the recent successful Homecoming, which saw great weather and participation. The Board and Administration commended Mr.s. Kern and the following students for their work in the Human Rights project:

the hi~h school appl.ies for reaccrediation . from the

Middle ~tates Association. It was s~ated that: this voluntaty process of self-evaluation takes pl:a.ceevery ten yeaJts and involves the development' of a phllosphical stateme*t by parents,' students and staff and 'culminat~s,

with th$ outside jtidgmentof a visiting team at the end of the~ear. Ms. Porter noted that a huge c;lmount of work

RESOLVED, that the following personnel recommendations be approved in accord with the terms and conditions listed below: 1. Resignations

a) That Susan Jennison's resignation as part time food service worker at CSH High School be accepted effective 9/28/93.

2. Appointments

a) That Arlene Peckham be appointed as part time (.5) food Service Worker, CSH High School replacing Jacqueline Amedo, ata salary of $7.50 per hour

(pending contract,negotiations) effective 9/7/93. b) That Maria Radford be appointed part time monitor

(.23) at CSH High School, replacing Shelly prefer, at a salary o'f of $7. OO/hour effective 10/5/93.

Mr. Fetterolf commended the committees on Special Education for their fine work. .Noting that services are provided almost immediately after identification and· followed closely thereafter Dr. Roberts commended Myrna Lewis and l1er staff. .

Dr. Austin T. Gavin presented a Five Year Financial study of the Cold Spring Harbor: School District. Morton Tenenbaum commended Dr. Gavin's work and asked that he consolidate the results of his study. ;

On motion of Suzanne Klein~necht, seconded by Vivian Cahn, the following resolution was unanimously approved:

RESOLVED, that effective :at 12: 01 a.m. on the 26th day of November, 1993, Cold Spring Harbor Central School District, County of Suffolk, state of New York, elects to self-insure its.liability ofworker's;compensation Benefits, including medical expenses.
