Hardware: New VoIP boards (4/4)

General Notes

INTIP2 has to be used for “IOIP functions”

“No RTP direct” mode and “transit” (INTIP) is no longer supported

New boards are not compatible with previous VoIP daughter boards (MADA3 or GIP6)

Mixture of previous and new boards (GA3, GD3 and PowerMEX) is not authorized in the

same common hardware Media Gateway

(41)

Embedded firmware for Voice and signaling encryption

In order to secure the communications (voice and signaling) of Media Gateway

(Crystal or Common Hardware), it was necessary to insert a MSM box between

the GD/GA/INTIP and the LAN network

On new VoIP boards, a “software” solution can be deployed to avoid adding the

MSM hardware cost and associated serviceability costs

The « software MSM » is used

– to protect the IP signaling link (IP Link) between the Com Server (through the SSM-RM,

mandatory) and the Media Gateway, with authentication and integrity, in order to

protect the availability of MG against MIM attacks.

Additionally the IP link is also encrypted to protect against sniffing

– To encrypt voice though SRTP

It uses SHA-1 as an integrity method with SSM-RM box (in front of Com Server)

(44)

Encryption limits & consideration

Embedded Voice & signaling encryption is not compatible with Passive Com Server

In case of adjunction, encryption has to be “activated” for all boards belonging to the

same Crystal or grape of Crystal: INTIP3 with softMSM and INTIP2 with MSM box.

Idem with Common Hardware: SoftMSM encryption has to be activated on all GD3 and

GA3 of the Media Gateway.

Pricing policy depends on number of Media Gateways, mixed boards and number of

boards per Media Gateway: refer to Actis rules and/or Pricing Catalogue.

Specific Encrypion offer available for BiCS. Discounted SoftMSM licenses for BiCS Specific

SoftMSM license for BICS at discounted price compared to OXE standard offer -> Check

the “IP Touch security” option in all peripheral areas you want to protect

. It cannot be ordered through ACTIS

HP Blade may not be available in all countries. Refer to local Alcatel-Lucent

representative for more information.

HP Blade option may impact some features / provisioning level. Refer to the reference

document “BiCS 2.2 Feature List & System Limits” for more information.

Price of HP Blade option differs from the standard IBM Appliance option

The BiCS Pack that includes HP Blade option does not include the Blade center.

Additional cost has to be provisioned for blade center (chassis), and any other HP

options required (dual Power supply, centralized hardware management, …).

As the Blade option does not include a DVD reader, the application upgrade must be

done over the network (new feature available on BiCS R2.2)

UPS monitoring and automatic switch off is not available (even if blade chassis does

have it).

Migration Evolution : Now from 4400 or OXE to BiCS

Any 4400 can now be migrated to BiCS

Migration Global Rules

Who can migrate ? Any existing OmniPCX Enterprise or 4400 with :

Less than 1000 users

No 4760 MCS Edition

Less than 32 IPMG

What we get after migration ?

A full BiCS IP if number of IP users to migrate are more than TDM users to migrate

A full BiCS 80 if number of TDM users to migrate are more than IP users to migrate

A full system with BiCS configuration rules applied (as if it was a new system)

At which price ?

Price of the migration is based on 1 migration base pack (IP or TDM), then

additional users pack (packs of 10 IP users and packs of 10 TDM users)

(56)
(57)

Serviceability improvements

Installation / upgrade over the network

Installation from scratch (fully erased disks) can now be done through the network

Upgrade of some applications can be done over the network (with some specific

constraints)

Fully automated delayed backup

The Automated scheduled backup is now fully automated (no more the need to

validate entries)
