____ Many of my men died of scurvy.

____ I took Donnacona’s sons back to France to meet the king. ____ I took gold back to Europe but later found out that it was worthless pyrite.

____ We encountered a group of Mi’kmaq paddling their canoes.

Diary Entry

 Imagine you have been living in New France for

several months now. How are you doing there? Describe the relationships that you have

formed with the First Nations people since you’ve been living there. Is everything going smoothly? Are there any conflicts? Describe these events. Consider writing about the good and bad points of living in New France from

your point of view. Do you think you will stay in New France and create your life there? Or, will you try to go back to Europe asap?

(46)

Include Date that makes sense to the

time period.

Be sure to edit your rough copy before

handing in your good copy.

Please write neatly!

Ensure that you skip a line or go to a
