Student Spotlight

Students Compete at the 7th Annual Atlanta Kid’s Triathlon

In the early morning hours of Sunday, August 26th, 6th grader Magnus

Lecke and 7th grader Jeremy Andre started their day participating in a kid’s

triathlon held at the West Gwinnett Aquatic Center. This was not their first triathlon.

Ages 6-15 come to Atlanta to compete in one of the largest kid’s triathlon in America. To prepare for the big day, they trained 3 days a week for 6 weeks. On race day, they swam 200 yards, biked 6 miles and then finished with a 1 mile run. As they crossed the finish line with a timing chip on their ankles, their time was recorded for all 3 events. With this technology, Magnus and Jeremy were able to compare their times to others and set goals to improve for next year.
