Post: Digital Communications and Marketing Assistant Reporting to: Head of Communications and Marketing
Hours: 36 hours/52 weeks per annum Salary: Circa £22k to £25k
Primary Job Purpose:
Working within the Communications and Marketing team, the Digital Communications and Marketing Assistant will provide editorial, operational, some strategic and creative support across our charity’s work.
He or she will play a key role in ensuring our communications are both influential and informative for the full range of our stakeholders, across all digital platforms.
The role focuses on the management and day to day upkeep of our social media channels, website and other digital platforms, as well as producing e-marketing shots, newsletters, posters and interesting visual content.
The Digital Communications and Marketing Assistant will liaise with our network of volunteers and staff to gather content ensuring that the charity’s digital presence is on message, on brand and up-to-date while growing our online following.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Management and day to day upkeep of our social media channels, website and other digital platforms (including video and audio)
2. Work with Head of Communications and Marketing to develop/deliver digital communications strategies to grow our networks and audiences and feed in to the overall Communications Strategy
3. Increase the organisation’s profile across digital media and with online influencers, stakeholders and other organisations
4. Management of all general enquiries through [email protected] promptly
5. Editing and publishing content on the website as directed, particularly to retain, develop, reactivate and recruit supporters
6. Support the charity’s fundraising activities and events through developing digital communications activities to promote their work and grow the charity’s supporter base and online donations
7. Use Photoshop, in-design and other publishing software to manipulate images and create multi-media communications and marketing materials (such as posters, videos, infographic, photo-manipulation, etc.)

projects
9. Work with the Head of Communications and Marketing to deliver e-marketing programmes, creating and sending out emails and newsletters to our supporter database 10. Manage the Search Engine Optimisation function of our website (SEO) and Google
Adwords/Grant
11. Report on digital communications analytics; social media, website, e-marketing, ad-words, etc.
12. Contributing to the development of new online resources and projects as part of the digital strategy
13. Ensure that our brand is correctly represented across all digital platforms
14. Research social media platforms not already covered and keep up to date with current trends.
