UK Full-Immersion Courses

(2)

Add some life to your English with a full-immersion course in the heart of England with Insegnanti-Inglese. If you want to improve your English quickly, one of our full immersion English courses is the perfect solution for you!

• Why?

A standard course includes over 70 hours of English lessons, practical English and focussed conversation every week. In a two week course you benefit from over 140 hours of English practice with a teacher, the equivalent of having 3 hours of normal lessons every week for a year!

We offer individual One-to-One courses plus Mini-Groups for up to 4 people, and we also offer our Elite Mini-Groups, which are private groups, just for you and your friends or colleagues!

• Sharing a house with teachers

When we say our courses are full-immersion, we are being serious. For the duration of your course you live in the same house as your teachers, so your English experience begins at breakfast and doesn’t end until you go to bed!

You and your group of up to four people will each have your own private room in a superb house, which you share with your teachers. For a group of four students we use a five or six-bedroomed house, so you will have plenty of space! On a One-to-One course you will share a house with two teachers (a couple), as if you were living with a family.

All inclusive full-Immersion English Courses in England

One year of English in two weeks!

• Experienced Teachers

Lessons are provided by two or more experienced teachers, both accustomed to teaching English to Italian students. In addition, for students up to intermediate level, we always ensure that at least one of the teachers you share your accommodation with can speak Italian fluently.

• What do you have to pay for?

• You have to pay for your course. • Your flights to the UK

• Any drinks or food you buy outside the house • Public transport tickets on trips to London

• No hidden Costs

There are no hidden costs. Our prices include all lessons, didactic materials, full-board accommodation, excursions and activities, plus transport by car or mini-bus within the UK. We even take you to and from the London airports.

During your course you share a house with your teachers and the rest of your group (if you join a Mini-Group). Your teachers will usually be a couple, so it will be like living with a family, but without the children!

You will have your own private room in a superbly spacious house. Very few houses, even larger houses of the type we use, have 5 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, so members of larger groups may occasionally have to share a bathroom.

Accommodation and Excursions Included

• Accommodation with Teachers

• Excursions and Activities

A large part of your course is dedicated to practical English. By this we mean speaking to other people in different contexts. Your course includes a range of excursions which will help you improve your speaking and listening skills by speaking to different people and performing simple tasks. For example, you could be asked to buy tickets, order drinks or food, ask for directions, describe the things you can see around you or what people are doing, and so on. In other words, engage in real conversations.

There are many excursions we can choose from, depending on your language level, the weather and, of course, your own preferences.

Depending on various factors, we use accommodation on the fringes of London, around the university cities of Bath, Oxford, Canterbury and Cambridge or, occasionally, in the peaceful English countryside. The houses are fitted with all the normal equipment found in UK homes, and all have gardens.

This brochure includes photos of some of the properties we can use. The exact property for your course will be confirmed after your booking has been completed and your payment received. Quite simply, we choose the best accommodation for each individual course, subject to availability.

Do you want to study one-to-one with an English teacher? If so, we offer probably the most intensive and yet fun one-one English courses available!

You will be met at London Heathrow or Gatwick by one of our teachers, who will take you to your home for the next few weeks. You’ll be staying in a lovely house which you’ll share with two teachers (usually a couple).

Our full-immersion English courses are unique!

Full-Immersion English Courses for Individuals

• Study One-One with your own Teacher

• Customised Learning

A month or so before your course begins you will be sent an English language assessment test and a questionnaire to help us plan the English course you want and need.

Your course will be based on your requirements, your goals and needs, whether you are studying English for personal or work-related reasons.

• A Typical Week

A typical week includes over 70 hours of English practice, through lessons, practical English and focussed conversation sessions. English weather means that it is sometimes necessary to reschedule planned activities but an average week includes:

• 55 hours of classroom lessons

• 65 hours of practical english sessions during excursions • 26 hours of guided evening conversation sessions

One-One courses are fully customisable which means that if you want more lessons and fewer pratical English sessions, we can adjust your course to suit you.

Your English experience begins at breakfast and continues non-stop through the day. After breakfast you’ll be kept busy with English lessons until lunchtime.

After lunch you either have more lessons or leave the house with your teachers for an excursion to one of Britain’s many places of interest.

During your excursions, you’ll be required to put your English into practice, speaking to people, performing various tasks, buying tickets, ordering drinks, asking for instructions and describing what you can see around you.

(5)

If a One-to-One course sounds too intensive for you, we can recommend joining one of our Mini-Groups.

Mini-Groups consist of a maximum of 4 people and offer a more relaxed way of improving your English. Many people find studying in a group very entertaining, as well as effective. You and the rest of your group will be met at Heathrow or Gatwick airports by one of our teachers, who will take you to your new home. You and your group will share a 5 or 6 bedroomed house with your teachers (a couple) for the duration of the course.

Full-Immersion English Courses for Individuals

• Study in a Mini-Group of up to 4 People

• Business or General English

We offer both General English and Business English courses for Mini-Groups, at all levels from Elementary to Advanced. After booking you will be sent an English level test to ensure you are placed in the correct group.

• A typical week

A typical week for Mini-Group includes more than 70 hours of lessons, practical English and focussed conversation sessions, all with at least one teacher. In most cases, you will be accompanied by two teachers during excursions, to ensure everybody gets enough ‘talking time’.

English weather means that it is sometimes necessary to reschedule planned activities but on an average week your course includes:

• 55 hours of classroom lessons

• 65 hours of practical english sessions during excursions • 26 hours of guided evening conversation sessions

Mini-Group courses follow the same pattern as One-One courses and your days are divided between lessons and a range of excursions and activities.

Every evening, after returning to the house after excursions, the group eats dinner together and has a conversation session, based on that day’s activities.

If you would like to book a private full-immersion course for up to four people, an Elite Mini-Group is perfect for you. An Elite Mini-Group is a private course, created exclusively for you, and focussed entirely on your needs.

Elite Mini-Groups are perfect for companies who want their staff to train as a team, but are also a great idea for groups of friends who prefer to study (and enjoy England) together.

Elite Mini-Groups - Private Full-Immersion Courses

• Your Own Private English Course

• One Course - Two Levels

For a relatively small supplement, Elite Mini-Group courses can accomodate students of two different language levels, or a group of four students can be divided into two smaller groups.

For example; a group of four students could be divided into two pairs. During lessons, two students are taught by one teacher, and two are taught by a second teacher. For practical English and conversation sessions, the students revert to being a group of four again.

• A typical week

England’s famously variable weather means we sometimes have to reschedule planned activities and excursions, but on an average week your course includes:

• 55 hours of classroom lessons

• 65 hours of practical english sessions during excursions • 26 hours of guided evening conversation sessions

One benefit of having an Elite group is that your lessons can focus on your specific needs, your industry or profession.

• Business or General English

You can study General English, Business English or a combination. In any event, your course is created according to your specifications. A month or so before your course you will be sent a language assessment test and questionnaire to allow us to understand your needs and requirements.

(7)

If you book an Elite Mini-Group course with us, you and your group enjoy the exclusive attention of your teachers, plus a course created according to your requirements.

Your group can work and study together as a team, making the course more enjoyable and beneficial. The atmosphere is more relaxed because you study with people you know, which makes learning easier, and more fun.

• Customised Lessons

Elite Mini-Group courses can be focussed on General English or Business English. Your lessons can cover specific topics or specialist vocabulary if required.

Outside of lessons, the range of activities and excursions we organise for you relate to general English and socialising. Even if you study Business English, you still need to socialise after work, so this part of your course is important.

Elite Mini-Groups - Private Full-Immersion Courses

• Work, Study and Relax as a Team

• Course Options

Split Groups: For a supplementary fee, we are able to split a group of 4 students into two smaller groups for lessons. The benefit is that students receive two-to-one tuition and means that we can even accept students of two language levels on the same course.

Regardless of your reasons for studying English, your course will be fun and the atmosphere informal and friendly!

Larger Groups: Generally, Elite Mini-Groups are for groups of up to four people, because smaller groups are very effective. However, given sufficient notice, we are also able to accept groups of up to 12 people.

Even with large groups, we accomodate everybody in the same house, usually English Manor Houses, similar to the one shown above, with 6-12 bedrooms. We should explain that using this type of property will increase your course costs significantly, as well as requiring a very early booking, so are probably best suited to executive groups.

For a quote for larger groups, please contact us by email, outlining your requirements and the proposed dates.

Your full-immersion course includes a variety of excursions, partly to make your stay in the UK more enjoyable and partly to allow you to practice your listening and speaking skills.

Course Information

All courses run Friday-Friday for a minimum duration of two weeks. Students must arrive on a Friday evening, when they will be taken to their accommodation, so that lessons can start on Saturday morning.

Your course prices include collection from either London Heathrow or London Gatwick airport at the approximate time specified in the booking agreement. We cannot guarantee to collect students from different airports, or to collect students who do not arrive at the correct time or day. In such cases, if we are unable to help, students will need to arrange their own transport. Your course price also includes group transport back to Heathrow or Gatwick on the final day of the course.

Our courses are created in advance of your arrival, based on the level tests and information provided by you - it is your responsibility to explain any specific needs you may have. It is not always possible to change a course significantly once it has started.

Most of your lessons will be provided by the teachers you share the accommodation with, but we also use guest teachers from time to time and to cover specific or specialist topics, for example; Financial or Legal English. Subject to availability we may be able to provide limited one-to-one tuition for mini-group students struggling with specific grammar points. Shared Mini-groups are intended for between 2-4 people. In the event that only one person subscribes for a specific course we reserve the right to refund the student in full and cancel the course up to one month prior to the start date.

Accommodation and Excursions

Your course costs include full-board accommodation which you share with two teachers and (if relevant) with the other members of your mini-group. Each person has his or her own private bedroom. We try to ensure that each student also has a private bathroom, but this cannot always be guaranteed unless a course is booked 3 or more months in advance, as the number of houses with 5 or more bathrooms is limited.

Your accommodation includes all the usual facilities found in UK houses, including laundry facilities. It should be noted that although our teachers prepare all your meals, they do not provide a laundry service! We provide a continental breakfast each day, a light lunch and dinner each day while you are in the house. Any food or drinks you buy whilst out of the house, for example on excursions, are not included in the course price.

Transport, in the form of a car or mini-bus, is provided to and from the London airports and for excursions around the UK. Tickets for public transport (trains, underground, bus, etc) are not included in your course costs, but we try to use public transport as little as possible (and normally only in London).

The cost of entrance tickets for any planned excursions are included in your course costs. You are responsbile for the costs of any optional activities you ask us to arrange (such as sports activities, West End theatre visits, etc).

Prices and Booking Terms

All prices quoted are provisional and subject to alteration until a booking is confirmed. Prices quoted only relate the the dates and course type specified in the quotation. Any change in details, course dates, course type or number of students will invalidate the original price quoted. Bookings for all courses at all times are strictly subject to availability.

Elite Mini-Groups are closed, or private, groups open only to you, your colleagues or friends. You share your accommodation only with the members of your group and your teachers. Once a booking has been confirmed and accepted it is not usually possible to increase the number of students attending, as we will have already booked and paid for accommodation suitable for the number of people in the original booking. In any event, if such a change is made, an additional charge will be payable.

All courses must be booked in advance. A payment of 25% of the total cost must be made when the booking is made, with the balance payable no less than 60 days prior to the course start date. If a booking is made less than 60 days before the start date, full payment is required at the time of booking. In the event that a booking is cancelled less than 60 days prior to the course start date, refunds will be made after subtraction of a £250 administration fee and any non-refundable payments we have made in relation to the course.

Miscellaneous Terms

Students must be at least 18 years old. Students are responsible for any damage caused to or in the accommodation they stay in, the vehicles they travel in and at all other times and any damages must be paid for. We STRONGLY advise all students to pay for travel insurance which provides protection in the case of illness, accident or theft whilst in the UK. In accordance with English law, we accept no responsibility in relation to these matters, nor do we provide this type of insurance.
