Certificate IV in Surface Extraction Operations

Qualification Objectives

ATA has developed a strategy to provide an opportunity for people wishing to formalise their mining and quarrying industry experience to either underpin their current job role or progress their career ambitions. This Certificate IV in Surface Extraction Operations qualification (RII40109) is nationally recognised and provides eligible participants with an opportunity to broaden their skills and maximise their opportunities for promotion by gaining a range of business, people management and technical competencies.

This qualification reflects the role of employees such as a supervisor or team leader working in an open cut mine or quarry. They perform tasks involving a broad range of varied activities most of which are complex and non-routine. They are responsible for the quantity and quality of the output of others, contribute to the development of technical solutions to non-routine problems and apply safety management plans to the workforce.

The program is delivered by experienced industry experts who also coach and mentor participants throughout the program.
