Introduction
The 7
thECC is organized on behalf of the European Coal Group, an
informal association, uniting academics, applied scientists and technicians
whose interests are concerned with European coal deposits, their utilization
and related environmental issues. Special attention is paid to the problems
and opportunities related to coal mine closure and to the continuing
importance of coal as a fuel for power generation and industrial usage as well
as protection of the environment.
This conference is being held in the city of Lviv.
This is the seventh Conference following those in Leicester (UK-1993),
Prague (Czech Republic 1995), Izmir (Turkey 1997), Ustron (Poland 2000),
Mons (Belgium 2002) and Belgrade (Serbia 2005). We hope that as in case of
the previous Conferences, this Conference will lead to significant progress in
the understanding of the utilization and conservation of coal resources.

Abstracts must be in English and are limited up to 1 or 2 full manuscript pages of A4
format (in 2 copies). Electronic version of the text on a 3.5˝diskette or e-mail file should be attached in MS Word format (not lower than 7.0 version). Text should be prepared with 1.5 interval, print Times New Roman, point 12, margins 2 cm, pages without numbering.
The abstract must be prepared following the example:

EXCURSION
One-day excursions will be organized throughout the Lviv-Volyn Coal Basin (August 28-29, 2008). Price of one excursion is 80 EURO.
