The Composite Structural Insulated Panel (C-SIP) System Connection Details are listed below:

Continuous fiberglass reinforced thermoset (FRT) 4" x 1-3/8" x 3/16" Bedford Composite Channels are

used instead of lumber for the top and bottom plate - replacing all wood components susceptible to rot,

mold and moisture penetration.

The H-Stud panel connection, made of the high performance FRT composite material in the 3-1/2" x

1-1/2" x 3/16" Bedford Channel, joins the C-SIP wall panels together with a structural stud.

The H-Stud is installed between the adjacent C-SIP wall panels with ITW Buildex 10-16 x 1-13/16"

Fasteners self-tapping flush head screws – spaced as required by engineering specifications.

The 1/4" gap between panels is then filled with 3M's 4000UV Adhesive Sealant that bonds the C-SIP

skins together.

The complete joint is then covered with 4″ wide 3M 8067 All Weather Flashing tape. This flashing tape

is also used around all wall penetrations creating an air and water tight joint over the H-Stud connection.

Windows are mounted onto the C-SIP exterior skin with fasteners that screw into the 4" FRT channel

running continuously inside the rough window opening.

The same high performance 4″ inch wide 3M all weather flashing tape covers the window nailing

flange – creating an air and water tight bond with the C-SIP wall panel skin.

This innovative combination of advanced FRT composite skins and the high insulating polyurethane

foam core – R-26 in a 4-1/2 inch thick panel – delivers the performance that homeowners, architects,

apartment and building owners demand and need to protect their long term investments.

A standard screwgun with a depth sensitive nosepiece should be used to install Teks. For optimal fastener performance, the screwgun should be a minimum of 6 amps and have an RPM range of 0-2500.

Adjust the screwgun nosepiece to properly seat the fastener.

Worn or damaged bit tip should be replaced.

The fastener is fully seated when the head is flush with the work surface.

Overdriving may result in torsional failure of the fastener or stripout of the substrate.

The fastener must penetrate beyond the metal structure a mini-mum of 3 pitches of thread.

All #10 diameter “Winged” parts must be driven into a minimum of 16 GA steel thickness.

All 1/4 and #12 diameter “Winged” parts must be driven into a minimum of 1/8" steel in order to break the wings consistently.
