Affiliate marketing offers a strategic way to gain more product exposure and brand recognition by creating a new channel to generate traffic and sales. Though the affiliate marketing channel comes with many benefits, retailers often encounter obstacles and challenges due to a multitude of tedious, manual
processes or complex technical integrations. Furthermore, e-commerce affiliate modules are often fragmented or don't contain the features needed to integrate across multiple networks and channels.
With this in mind, Demac Media, a Magento gold partner, and AffiliateTraction, the largest affiliate agency in the world, have teamed up to build an extension that aims to ease the transition into the world of affiliate marketing, making it as
comprehensive, seamless and hassle-free as possible.
Introducing the Demac Media & AffiliateTraction Extension Suite! This extension suite provides merchants with the software to simplify integration between their Magento installation and global affiliate channels, unifying efforts across multiple networks and verticals while creating efficiencies that reduce strains on technical and marketing departments through automation of both setup and ongoing tasks. Because this suite was developed in partnership with AffiliateTraction, you gain access to the leading global affiliate marketing agency and their comprehensive suite of affiliate channel and brand compliance services. You also gain access to top networks in the US, EU, UK, CA, and AU such as Commission Junction, Rakuten LinkShare, eBay eCommerce, AffiliateWindow, Trade Doubler, DGM, Zanox and many others.
Currently this module supports global, cross-network platform product feeds, and the triple redundant AffiliateTraction tracking container pixel all in a single instance of Magento. Future releases will include sales reconciliation, consumer offers and promotion codes. Download it once and you will be notified about these future enhancements as they are released.

Installation
The Demac Media AffiliateTraction Extension Suite is available now on Magento
Connect as well as the Demac Media Product Page.
For the latest version compatibility, please see the Magento Connect listing.
All individual modules will be bundled into the main install with the option to enable or disable as required. The install of this extension (via FTP) is the same as the majority of modules that are available on Magento Connect.
For the particular package Demac_AffTrac_Suite-0.2.1.zip you will need to:
1. Extract the files inside the 0.2.1/ directory in your Magento root. This can be
done with an FTP program such as FileZilla.
2. Flush your Magento cache under System > Cache Management > Flush Cache
Magento Cache.
3. Re-login to the Magento administrative backend.

Configuration
The configuration of the pixel can either be completed at the DEFAULT, WEBSITE or STORE VIEW scope.
The configuration parameters and a description of each are as follows:
• Enabled
o Yes/No
o Default or Website or Store View
o You are able to enable/disable the pixel at the specific scope you want
it to apply to
• ID
o Supplied by AffiliateTraction
o If varies by website, then you need to do a specific entry for each site
o yourID on affiliatetechnology.com. E.g yourID.affiliatetechnology.com
• Currency
o The currency parameter should populate with whatever currency is
used by the customer at the time of the purchase
• Development Mode
o Yes/No
o If set to ‘Yes’, the order ID will be prefixed with test- to ensure that
duplicate order IDs are not sent from a staging vs production environment
o orderId=test-100000054
Note:
• After configuring the pixel, please inform your AffiliateTraction
representative that you are set up and ready for testing.

o Option to either break out the simple products (as part of a
configurable) or just have the configurable listed in the feed

Setup and Configuration of a Product Feed

Note:
• If there is an error when uploading the feed, the status will display a red
error signal. If the upload is complete, it will display a green “uploaded” signal.
• The status is determined once the following steps have been completed.
Configuration – Feed Information
The Feed Information section is where you enter details about the Product Feed and
• Description (Optional)
o Textual descriptor of the purpose of the feed
• Status
o Active or Inactive option to disable the feed
o Note that all feeds that are ‘Active’ will run on a nightly cron for upload
• Websites
o For instances of Magento with multiple sites, choose which WEBSITE
the feed will pull products and gather information from
Your AffiliateTraction account representative will provide the required inputs for the
FTP Information during the account setup phase. The feed is uploaded through this
information from Magento to AffiliateTraction for processing and will be uploaded on a nightly basis via a cron or if the feed is explicitly run from the administrative section of Magento (Save and Generate Feed).
All fields are required:
• FTP Host
• FTP User
• FTP Pass
• FTP Path
o / is recommended to be used as this will upload to the root
• FTP Filename
o This will be prefixed with dmm_ on upload to the FTP site
o If there are multiple feeds to run, make sure the names are unique to
each
Configuration – Attribute Mapping
The Attribute Mapping rule menu correlates the attributes you set in Magento to
AffiliateTraction’s attributes (following the Google base product feed).
Start by clicking ‘Add a New Attribute’ and selecting the corresponding attributes in the dropdown menu.
• Left – ‘Attributes’ corresponds to the specific Magento attribute
• Right – ‘Content Attribute’ corresponds to the attribute header that will be

• There are some attributes that are always required in the feed and will be
populated with a default value if a specific Magento attribute is not mapped to it
• The list is as follows with their default values:
o gender – unisex
o ageGroup = adult
• In addition the following will try to auto-map on attribute name if there is the
same name found in Magento (this can be overwritten by explicitly setting the mapping):
o color
o size
o material
Configuration – Product Selection
The Product Selection in the Product Feed Configuration is where you will define
which products you are including on the feed to AffiliateTraction. Products are selected based on ‘rules’ in which you will define here in this section; these rules follow standard Magento rule inputs (such as with promotions).
Examples of rules used to define products for selection can include:
• Category
• Attribute Set
• Specific Attribute Rules
o Brands
o Price = > $x.xx
Configuration – Category Mapping
The Category Mapping configuration will help to define the mapping from the specific
Magento categories (or even attribute rules) to the ‘standard’ categories that are available that will best represent the products you are pushing in the product feed. This category listing is based off of the Google Product Category Taxonomy.
PLEASE NOTE: If a products falls into a category that does not have a mapping, it will not be categorized and therefore not accepted on the feed.
Some examples of this mapping can include:
If your category contains baby car seats
