Club Tech Digital Arts Suite and Festivals

Club Tech’s self-directed Digital Arts Suite courseware consists of Web Tech (web page design), Design Tech (graphic design), Photo Tech (photo illustration) and Music Tech. Movie Tech contains detailed instructor materials for teaching members to write screenplays and facilitating the hands-on process of filming and editing digital movies.

Once Club members have participated in these programs, they can submit their digital artwork to the annual Club Tech Digital Arts Festivals competitions. The festivals celebrate Club members’ creativity in five areas – web design, graphic design, photo illustration, music composition and movie making – and provide Club members with recognition at the local, regional and national levels. Microsoft Corporation and Best Buy Children's Foundation sponsor the Digital Arts Festivals as part of the Club Tech initiative.

Organizational Skills

Some people are born organizers – we have storage facilities, game closets, supply closets and even certain public areas of the Club that could really use fresh, organized designs.

(10)

Assorted Administrative Projects

Throughout the year, we do mailings and could really use volunteers to supervise the kids who volunteer to stuff envelopes and prepare them for mailing. We usually provide a pizza or ice cream party to those kids who do help. For those people who would rather not work with kids, but still would like to help us, we could always use help to do handwritten thank you notes on a weekly basis, volunteer at fundraising events, help with the organizational website updates, etc.
