I recommend the following checkout sequence:
1.
BmO: higher number of different problems, including slow channels +
1 panel change
2.
BmI: slow channels + 2 panels change
3.
BpO: 1 panel change
Basic idea
Perform a
checkout in order to understand if the
problems are still present and if there are new ones
Understand the “not-yet-understood” cause of the
problems
To do before ...
To do before starting the checkout:
Test and leak-tests C6F14
Clean / re-arrange the clean room
Move “clean-room-specific-clothes” from TIF to P5
DCS system up and running
Run Pilot Run Detector as final “GO-NO-GO” to the pixel lab at P5
To do before starting the maintenance:
Install panel test stand at P5
Install microscope at P5
Define the clean/safe area where to perform the repair
Move cabinet with plexiglass windows from TIF to P5
Move spare components from TIF to P5 cabinets: port-cards, AOH,
DOH, etc...
Manpower from FNAL
The “not-yet-understood” problems are essentially related
to the slow channels
Once the first half cylinder will be investigated, we can
make a more concrete plan for the technicians from FNAL
to come for the exchange of the broken panels
Any way, I think that the technicians should come only
after all 4 half cylinders have been throughly investigated
A possible scenario: we find a weak point in the system
and we want to fix it on all 4 half cylinders
After the maintenance
Calibrate the detector at different temperature and store
results for future extrapolations ?
Integrate the pilot blade detector into the current
detector
Check the detector status periodically and right before the
reinsertion in CMS (?)
