A Proven Design, Refined

Stryker S3 is safe.

Reduce the risk of falls with iBed™ Awareness

and the Chaperone® Bed Exit System. iBed Awareness monitors your smart

bed configurations, displaying amber or green indicators. The Chaperone

Bed Exit System monitors three zones, activating an alert when the patient

moves out of position. Chaperone is so effective that Stryker provides a

performance-based guarantee, pledging a fall reduction of at least 30 percent

within the first year of use.

Stryker S3 is simple.

Each control is intuitive, easy to access

and out of the way of bedside stands and other hospital equipment.

High-visibility data screen and one-touch scale provide information at a glance.

The open architecture of the Stryker S3 accepts any 35 x 84-inch support

surface including those for patient positioning, pressure redistribution, and

pulmonary therapy. It accepts almost any form of traction, and is compatible

with the vast majority of nurse call and networking systems.

Stryker S3 is secure.

Be everywhere at once and know the

status of all patient beds with Stryker S3. Stryker S3 can be a part of a

Connected Hospital® system that links beds, to patients, to caregivers, to

mobile devices using an open-architecture, cost-effective system. This

enables remote monitoring of Stryker beds in real time from multiple

locations, especially a nursing station, as well as instant notification of

a change in status.

The Stryker S3 is based on the patient platform that is preferred by

more hospitals than any other, the Secure

®

line of hospital beds. Years

of refinement and input from caregivers have evolved the Stryker S3

into the med/surg bed that makes everyday care safer and easier for you

and your patients.

BackSmart design makes

everyday tasks safer and easier.

The Stryker S3 bed reduces

risk of injury with siderails that

have an intermediate support

position for patient assistance

during bed entry and exit.

Retractable Bed Frame Exclusive retractable frame allows proximal location to remain essentially unchanged when the head of the bed is raised, reducing the need for patient repositioning.

Chaperone Bed Exit System

with Zone Control

®

For fall prevention, constantly track patient position using a patented, center-of-gravity, weight-based system.

How important is your choice of a med/surg bed?

With increasing reimbursement challenges for in-hospital injuries such as falls from a bed or

hospital-acquired pressure ulcers, the choice of a bed is vitally important. The average cost

to treat a hospital-acquired pressure ulcer is over $40,000.* The treatment for a fall from a

bed is over $24,000.* The Stryker S3 is designed to reduce the risk of falls, and can accept

surfaces that reduce the risk of pressure ulcers. The choice of a bed is critical to the

out-comes of your patients as well as the financial well-being of any health-care organization.

Improved Ergonomics

Zone One The largest zone; for patients who are expected to have significant movement without leaving the bed.

Zone Two The middle zone; for patients who should not sig-nificantly change their position but will move arms and legs.

Zone Three The smallest zone; for patients for whom very small movements warrant your immediate attention.

Save Time, Reduce Fall Risk

iBed Awareness

Patient falls are among every hospital’s top concerns. iBed Awareness is an exclusive

local bed status system that monitors important bed configurations and alerts you if

parameters change. The system monitors siderail positions, 30-degree Head Of Bed,

brakes, Chaperone Bed Exit System and low-bed height, displaying amber or green

indicators on the bed. It will also signal the hospital network or remote devices.

Chaperone Bed Exit System

Stryker’s patented Chaperone Bed Exit System with Zone Control senses the patient’s

position with an accurate three-zone system, and activates an alert when a patient

attempts to move out of a preset zone without assistance. Chaperone helps prevent

falls and reduces false alarms. Stryker also provides comprehensive fall prevention

educational program as part of the Chaperone Bed Exit System. The result is safer

patients and lower costs.
