AVOID MISSING IMPORTANT CALLS

MessageBank®

MessageBank is your personal answering service with three options that can keep you open for business 24/7.

MessageBank

Save on the cost and space of extra equipment like answering machines – but still have all the features for managing your messages.

MessageBank Virtual

You can have all the benefits of a personal answering service without even having a phone line. Callers simply dial your virtual mailbox number to leave messages, plus you can forward calls from your mobile or other phones and listen to the messages later.

MessageBank Away

Let your customers know they’re important to you, even if you’re closed for holidays, moving or renovating. This greeting-only service lets you record a message telling people when you’ll be back, your new number, or how to reach you in the meantime. Usage and call charges apply to MessageBank services.

How to use MessageBank

Getting started

The first time you call your MessageBank service on 125 101, voice prompts will guide you through recording your personal greeting.

When you’re asked for your PIN, enter the last 6 digits of your phone number (this is your temporary PIN) then press . MessageBank will then prompt you to choose a new 6-digit PIN. Follow the prompts to set up your mailbox.

Managing your PIN

You can change your PIN any time and using a PIN from your office phone is optional.

From the MessageBank main menu: press for the set up menu, then press for the PIN change menu press to change your PIN or

press for Security Settings, then press 1 to turn on Optional PIN.

Your BusinessLine plan has a great range of included and optional features to help you manage your calls and messages.

DO MORE WITH YOUR BUSINESS PHONE

Call Waiting

With Call Waiting, there’s no need to miss an important call just because you’re on the phone. The discrete Call Waiting tone (two beeps every five seconds) lets you know there’s a call waiting to be answered. You can answer this second call straight away by putting your first caller on hold. (Call Waiting isn’t available during 3-Way Chat calls.)

Call Waiting is turned on and ready for you to use right now. To check if Call Waiting in on or off

or Dial tone Announcement

No charges apply for Call Waiting.

Call Return

Call Return lets you retrieve the number of your last unanswered call and then return the call straight away by pressing

Call Return is available on tone phones in most areas of Australia, but it’s not available for blocked calls.

Applicable usage charges apply for number retrieval and call charges apply if you return the call.

Standard call charges apply for forwarded calls. Your Call Forward options also include:

Call Forward Busy – If your phone is busy, your calls can be forwarded to almost any number in Australia.

Call Forward No Answer – If your phone isn’t answered, your calls can be forwarded to almost any number in Australia. Call Forward Selected Callers – Set up a ‘Selected Callers List’ of up to 15 numbers that will be automatically forwarded to another number.

Call Forward Set the Time – Forward calls to almost any number in Australia during the time periods you choose. When Optional PIN is on, your PIN will only be required when

you call your mailbox from another fixed phone or mobile. If you use dial-up internet access on the same line as your MessageBank, clear any new messages before logging in, as your modem may be unable to connect while the special ‘new messages’ tone is present.

1# Telstra Feature Assistant

1# Telstra Feature Assistant is a voice activated help service. You just tell it what you want.

Dial and you’ll hear:

“Hi, I’m your Telstra Feature Assistance. What would you like to do today?”

You can say:

“Call Waiting, Call Forward, Phone Features, User Tips or Stored Numbers”.

Then you can either listen to the step-by-step prompts or interrupt them and make your request.

If you want to change your Call Forward settings, note that the default setting is Call Forward Immediate. So, if you only want to turn on Call Forward Busy, for example, you need to say “Turn on Call Forward Busy”.

There’s no access charge for 1# Telstra Feature Assistant, but applicable call costs apply for forwarded calls.
