Main activities - Personal project: Exploratory analysis of in-field yield variability. The study analysed a 1000

ha farm in Bukinghamshire. An analysis of field margins managed for ecological purposes - that are an important source of Ecosystem Services - has been carried on. Ecosystem Services produced by field margins have a spatial distribution, an identity and an intensity that vary because of spatial distribution and configuration of field margins. For this reason the effect of some types of managed field margins on crop yield have been investigated in order to understand their synergy with crop yield. Moreover, other influencing factors on in-field yield variability have been investigated, in order to understand the intensity of their influence. Collection, processing and interpretation of data were done by different Geographic Information Systems (ArcGIS, Q-GIS, AGROMAP). The project needed different levels of spatial analysis that required a continuous and even more advanced level of GIS use.
