POSITION: 15X Fleet Engineer

We are looking for a Fleet Engineer to provide professional engineering support to the Class 15x fleet.
Leading a team of four staff you will be responsible for ensuring that the class 15x fleet is maintained and operated in a safe working condition at all times, ensuring maintenance procedures are adequately prepared to provide the most cost effective, maintenance plan, continuously improving the technical performance of the class 15x fleet and providing technical support at the maintenance depots.

We have a temporary opportunity in our Control team to help us through the autumn leaf fall period and first few months of winter; one of the most challenging periods in running a right time railway.
Working as part of the Control shift team, you’ll ensure any delays attributed to us are correctly attributed or challenged back to Network Rail. You’ll also help us identify where the leaf fall season is impacting on our ability to run trains on time.
We’ll also give you the training so you can support other roles in the Control. This might include supporting our on train & station people, sending messages or supporting the flow of information in the control room during disruption.

In fact, there’s a wide variety of duties including the preparation, marshalling and disposing of vehicles at your Depot; fitting and removing ETH shore supply, coupling and uncoupling and re-marshalling trains and traction units; servicing traction and rolling stock including re-fuelling, replenishing and draining water, oil, coolant and water as necessary; and reporting any irregularities, faults and movement problems.
You’ll also be labelling, cleaning cab interiors and exteriors, particularly windscreens, and checking that the train environment is up to customer standards. This is an important role for which full training will be given.
You’ll need to have a personable, positive and professional approach, the ability to follow set rules and procedures in a safety conscious environment, exceptional concentration skills, good self discipline and the willingness to work shifts, these roles will be required to work 37 hours per week over a 24 hours roster with Sundays forming part of the working week.
Appointment into these positions will be made upon successful completion of the full external Driver Assessment to Mainline Standards, an interview and the passing of a Driver Standard Medical. POSITION: Incident Support Controller – Part time 20 hours per week

The Incident Support Controller is responsible for proactively managing disruptive events and leading the development of prioritised plans to resolve incidents with key stakeholders.
Working as part of the Control shift team, you’ll proactively manage the attribution of delays to our trains. You’ll ensure our log is kept up to date with quality content and accuracy and ensure TRUST delay incidents are correctly allocated and recorded. When things go wrong you’ll coordinate the response and resolution to the incident and support the shift team and the Duty Control Manager.
We’re looking for applicants with strong prioritising and communication skills that can also influence, work with others, solve problems and make time critical decisions. You should also have an eye for detail, be able to manage multiple work streams and be comfortable in an environment where demands are high and priorities change rapidly.
Ideally you’ll have knowledge of the railway industry, our routes, Microsoft office software, and railway systems’ software.
