Approaching the turn out of the back straight, STORM MAIDEN (2) checked off the heels of MIGHTY BONUS (6), losing momentum. As a result, DUSTORM DAN (4) was hampered. Racing around the bend, WATTA JACKPOT (5) checked off the heels of
BLIMZILLA (7). Racing in to the home straight, BLIMZILLA (7) shifted in, checking MIGHTY BONUS (6) and STORM MAIDEN (2).

INCIDENTS TROPICAL SANDS (1) came together with MATILDA’S DREAM (3) shortly after the start. PRICE RISE (8) looked to shift out around the catching pen. Turning in to the home straight, TROPICALS SANDS (1) and CELTIC COLLEEN (4) came together. Stewards spoke with connections for PRICE RISE (8) and advised that future runs would be monitored around the catching pen in particular.
MATILDA’S DREAM (3) finished a distant last and was never in the running. A Veterinary examination of MATILDA’S DREAM (3) revealed no injury. Stewards spoke with connections of MATILDA’S DREAM (3) regarding the greyhounds actions throughout the race. After consideration Stewards decided to issue the greyhound MATILDA’S DREAM with an endorsement for ‘Failing to Pursue the Lure’ in accordance with GAR 69 (1)(a). As this is the greyhound’s 1st
Offence it is suspended from racing for a period of 28 days at Casino and until the completion of a Satisfactory Trial.

SURPRISE (4) galloped across the heels of CALL ME DAWN (7), shifting wide and having to ease to avoid the outside fence. Racing around the bend, LOVES A ROSE (9) shifted in and became entangled with FIREFLY DING (3). As a result a scrimmage occurred on the bend with FIREFLY DING (3), LOVES A ROSE (9), PAY DA BAND (2), CALL ME DAWN (7) and MY NAME’S TEDDY (10) all involved, suffering varying degrees of interference.
