Executive Summary

Civility Management Solutions (CMS) provides professional services, staffing

augmentation, investigations, and training while offering years of Subject Matter

Expertise. CMS represents collective knowledge of highly esteemed trainers, project and

program managers, and professional employees who hold degrees up to PhD, with

quality certifications, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills. The President

and CEO of CMS is a Service Disabled United States Marine Corps Woman Veteran.

CMS prides itself on its inclusive culture which involves full sucessful intergration and

advancement of people with disabilites including Veterans. We offer reliable, talented,

Laurie S. Artis - President & CEO

The President and CEO of Civility Management Solutions (CMS), Ms. Laurie S. Artis, is a United States Marine Corps Veteran that has worked in the private sector in several leadership positions over the past 20+ years. She established CMS in August 2012 in order to promote civility in the workplace, along with mentoring and developing both Veterans and the underserved. Her desire to serve this country as an entrepreneur is deeply rooted.

Laurie is active in Diversity and Inclusion matters and seeks to make a difference. She serves as an Officer on the Veteran Entrepreneurship Task Force Executive Committee, which is a nonprofit organization whose primary mission is to advocate for the implementation of legislation, programs, and regulations to increase

contracting opportunities for Veteran and Service Disabled Veteran Business Owners. She is a member of the Women’s Committee and serves as the Program Manager on the Veterans Committee, for the City Club of Washington DC, which has a diverse and dynamic membership of business owners and government staff who engage in social and community activities. She is an active member of the WVI (Women Veteran Interactive) group that seeks to support Women Veterans through advocacy, empowerment, interaction, outreach

and unification. She was a winner of the 1st Count Me In Women Veteran Entrepreneur Corps

Pitch Contest, and was the 1st and only Woman Marine to receive this award. Laurie graduated

from the highly esteemed comprehensive certification program with the Veteran Institute for Procurement in Rockville, MD and lastly, CMS is a recipient of the Washington, DC - SCORE “Client of the Year” award.

Clients

The list of recent customers below will share our successes thus far, and building

long-term relationships through consistent delivery is the goal of CMS leadership.

CMS managed the development of three (3) acquisitions for the Department of Veteran

Affairs (VA), Office of Acquisitions and

Logistics. The solicitation was developed to acquire a contracting firm that can help the VA establish an agency enterprise - wide Project Management process and procedure.

CMS consultants developed and

administered training for the Department of

Education, Office of Civil Rights on “How to

Interview a Witness” for twelve (12) regional offices both onsite and via

video-teleconference.

CMS provides administrative and grant management support to the Department of

Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety

Administration, Office of Finance. We are supporting their efforts to manage and close-out completed and aged grants.

CMS leadership assessed, advised, re-develooped and administered a 9 month mentoring program for NASA Headquarters with mid-level to upper-level management. The goal was to revitalize the existing program for the future leadership of NASA.

CMS is a Preferred Supplier to the United States Peace Corps for Sexual Misconduct Investigation until 2019.

Cowtan and Tout

CMS provided temporary support to assist in updating the showroom floor of the designer trade store in Washington, DC.

CMS provided training and mentoring to Women Veterans on entrepreneurship and socio-economic advantages.

CMS provided insight on the training provided to small businesses within the District of Columbia for working within the Government at the 2014 Small Business Summit for the District of Columbia, Procurement Technical Assistance Center.
