Application for Exchange

All exchange students must be nominated first by our partner universities, before we start the application process.

Nominations should be sent by email to [email protected] including students’ name and email address. Moreover, if it’s a Master applicant, we would like to know if he/she will be a Master 1 or Master 2 student by the time the exchange begins.

Once we have students’ contact information, an e-mail will be sent directly to them containing information on application procedures, accommodation, health insurance among other issues related to the exhange program. Nominated stu-dents should send by email the following documents before the deadline:

Application Form A Passport-type Photo Passport Copy

Transcript of Grades

Post-Graduate applicants (Master of Research or Ph.D./Doctorate) also need to send the following documents (to be sent by e-mail as well):

Current Master Transcript Diploma of Bachelor degree Curriculum Vitae

FEA-USP Bachelor programs last 4 years. To take Post-Graduate courses a stu-dent must be enrolled at least in the second year of a Master program in his/ her home institution (MSc 2) or attending a research-based post-graduate pro-gram (Master of Research or Ph.D./Doctorate program). Post-Graduate programs are research-based, demanding a lot of reading and writing exercises, not to men-tion class debates, for a good knowledge of the Portuguese language is required. At FEA-USP, Doctoral stu-dents and Master of Research stustu-dents share the same courses.

Academic Information

We recommend students to complete 12 USP-CREDITS (30 ECTS) per Semester. There is a limited number of places available in each course. Registration is done on a first come, first served basis. This way we are not able to guarantee that all students will be placed according to their first preferences, and we expect some flexibility on their choice of courses.

First year courses and most second year core courses are not available for Ex-change Students.

Grading System:

1) Bachelor: Grading system at USP ranges from 0,0 (zero) to 10,0 (ten). To pass a course, a student must fulfill two conditions: minimum score of 5,0 (five) and minimum attendance of 70%. The score represents an average of all work devel-oped by student.

2) Post-Graduate: grading system is based on four grades: A, B, C and R, where A, B and C are passing grades, and R is a failing grade. Minimum attendance re-quired is 75%. Registration in Post-Graduate courses is allowed only for foreign students attending the M2 in their home institutions.

Final Assessment:

Exchange Students will take their exams in the same conditions as regular students.

Exchange students are not authorized to organize their exams individually with their professors.
